Another snow day

fucking hell.  IT'S A SNOWBALL, NOT A GRENADE.  they go "pouf" on the outside of your car.  there is no reason to feel sorry for anyone inside the car, there is no reason to chase after someone who hit your car, and there is no reason to pull a gun.  IT'S A FUCKING SNOWBALL.

am i missing something here?

you are actually missing two things:

1) snowballs don't always go "pouf."  They can be packed almost as hard as rocks, and in fact many snowballers take pride in their ability to make a hard packed snowball

2) it's beyond juvenile to attack people who aren't involved and don't want to be involved, no matter how harmless *you* think it is.  Anyone who thinks there is nothing wrong with that deserves an iceball to the face from a stranger.

Cali's account confirms to me once again that the people doing this stuff are just a big bunch of adult children.

they are calling for up to 10" of snow on tuesday……please make it stop
Are you serious? I did hear about 6 inches w/ ice/sleet.
Is it nkotb who is having a baby soon? I saw a couple interviewed about their son's new baby born on Friday. Wondered if it could be him.
I haven't seen a plow since Friday - turns out the one for our area caught on fire. It looks like a bomb went off over here. Neighbors' tensions are running high after arguments of where to put all the snow.
Yep, I am having one soon, but that wasn't me.  Heaving 16 tons of snow off of our cars, the sidewalks, the driveway and our still-unplowed road ensure that this kid wasn't showing up this weekend.  Would've been a good story, though!

If it's a boy you can name him Julian!
It's number one our list.

Hooray!
Wow. Didn't expect that reaction to a snowball fight. If anyone was throwing them at cars on purpose, sure, they suck. But otherwise? Just a bunch of people having fun.
one of the latest models (there are 3 or 4 different ones, so this is just one possibility) shows baltimore/dc getting 20 inches.  not making this shit up.

You guys are so lucky. I think RVA is looking at 2-3" at most. :(

Jebus.  I like a snow day, or even two, but after that enough!

i'm kind of tired of the snow.  last time we got close to this amount, i was in high school (96) and actually got to enjoy it.  i don't have that luxury now.
getting to work was not fun today. i only live like 8 miles away too

I feel the exact same way. Snow was fun when I was in high school and got out of class for a few days because of it. Once you're in college and have a job and less time to enjoy it, it's more of a pain in the ass than a luxury.
I don't know.. walking around in snow at 1 am Saturday felt pretty awesome as did yesterday afternoon in the sun.. Talk about a winter wonderland..

basically, snow is fun for maximum one day after – no work, you can walk in the middle of the street, everyone's in a good mood.  After that it's a cold, nasty slushy slog and even if work is closed you know shit is piling up on your desk.    So the key is to enjoy that one day as much as possible (unless you're without power, in which case it's harder to do even that).
The only thing worse for this board than all of us getting older is a light dusting of snow across the DC area….

lol

however, dulles airport recorded 32 inches.  gotta admit that's a tad more than a "dusting".  on the upside, all that snow will keep the youngin off our lawns.
