Foo Fighters 11/11/11 thread

Just be patient and wait until the week of the show.  I predict there will be a glut if tickets available from both the scalpers and TM.

Fatskippy needs to post his "Rules of good Ticket Kungfu" manifesto…

I did, some how… After throwing back several pairs in the 400s.  Are GA not considered 'best available' ?  I think I entered floor seating to get them.
Agree with Eros. But I'm still annoyed and disgusted that bands are still out of touch with a hardcore fan base that I do think deserves a little more attention. It's easy to go the paperless route and ensure that hardcore fans (at the very least someone like Bags) gets a fair crack at a really good seat. I'm not saying that I don't approve of Capitalism. I don't care for these charades that make it seem like we are having a fair chance at something that isn't even there. It's pretty clear what's going on here.
some ticketmaster tips:

-have a fast connection (obviously)
-be able to time ticketmaster with time.gov, tickets usually go up for sale 4 to 5 seconds past the hour
-don't refresh the page where you buy the tickets, notice how much longer it takes to load when you do that vs. how quickly the page loaded when you entered from the listing of venues and dates?
-have ticketmaster.ca as a back up on another browser in case the show isn't loading for you
-only 1 of the 2 captcha words is the one you need to type, if you see one with any characters other than letters (a comma, period, upside down letters, etc), that one ain't it

And for the love of god, quit complaining about ticketmaster and different conspiracies, you sound like an idiot.  Notice how many tickets are already on stubhub?  There are a lot of scalpers out there, both professional and amateur.  These people are much better at ticketmaster than you and will beat you to the punch every time unless you practice and see what works and what doesn't work to improve your speed.
Didn't know about the one word capatcha tip.  Thanks for that.

I think the reason a lot of people are angry is not because scalpers are better at working the website than we are, it's that they are often in cahoots with the venue and TM (but in this case not the promoter I'm sure).  Tons of the tickets held by the scalpers never got a chance to go to the public.

dude I'm 49 y.o. I've been working tmaster on my work computer for years, decades. Believe me I know how to do it. No, something went amiss this time around.  Anyhow. Back to work.

well I'm the one who asked for the tips!

thanks.. ;D
Really regret letting go of that 121 ticket. Settled on 228, which looks pretty decent. Oh well. I've never seen the Foos at all (but I did see Everlong at the 30th anniversary show) so I'm psyched. Wasting Light is one of their best.
Ditto to gardener.  But, you know, worse things to worry about.  Will pay the effing scalping motherfuckers and be on the floor with a lot of other folks who paid NOT THE BAND I love $140, but douchebags.

PS, thanks for the superfan shoutout bearman.  ;)

well that probably explains why my AOL dialup didn't pull up tickets  ;D

Never thought of that one.  Are there any other problems or restrictions related to that?  Does that happen to bypass the regular queue?
Gaaaaah, it this helps, I just saw them at Lolla and was pretty far over to the side.  Further than you could be any place in Verizon.  And it was still completely awesome.  You'll love it if you love rock.  ;)
Nice. Good to know.

Considering all those behind stage tickets I was pulling for a while, 228 is fine by me.

I let go of 121 as well.  Well I opened up another window to get a better ticket and that screwed everything up.  I was on the checkout for 121 but I just wanted to see if I could get a better ticket, ugh
What cracks me up is that Ticketbastard blocks you after a while if you just keep trying and throwing back seats. I'm blocked from the Canadian site too. And I'm someone who actually wants to see the show and not just make a buck.

Just curious….but why would you let go of a 121 ticket?  There aren't many better seats than those, unless you were just holding out for floor.

They were awesome at Lolla I was right up front on the barrier that show.  Closest I've been for a Foo show  ;D

i don't like to feed scalpers but 115$ for instant download floor on stubhub

i paid $77 or $78 for singles in the 100s..

I'd say the Floor is worth the premium…

There are no problems or restrictions, I've bought off ticketmaster.ca many times.  A few years ago when ticketmaster.com switched over to the difficult captchas, ticketmaster.ca didn't make the switch for a few months.  I was absolutely killing it during that time with the quality of tickets I pulled.  I don't believe it will bypass the queue though.

Oh I'm asking myself this now as well. But at the time, there just had to be better seats.

115 for Stubhub floor really isn't that bad. I'm not buying, but thats way lower than expected.
