That is AWESOME. And so true too. I prefer by a wide margin PC games, but it's such a pain keeping my system upgraded and not knowing which games will work.
agreed… there is part of me that has been wanting to build a home theater pc, but if one thinks the water is murky for gaming pcs try checking out the discussion of htpcs.

now if apple would only pull their head out of content delivery asses and delivery a mini mac with a blu-ray player instead of another crapple tv product.

the last time i considered going the gaming pc route, i got the impression that current hw is actually ahead of the curve and its going to be awhile until newer games will be pushing performance to the extreme.
who in the hell has time to play games on pc, with all the porn, news, and this place.
I played hangman in the games section of my transcontinental flight. That was pretty decent.

Why bother? The PCs main job is storage. The extenders are the key my friend (and they come in many shapes and sizes, some of which you might already own, they just haven't been turned on yet).

I'm sensing a white paper over in the smackie section….
I just stream everything over my wireless connection to my xbox 360 which is hooked up to my tv. divx, mp3, etc.

Yep. And for those that don't want to purcahse and Xbox 360, every DVR on the planet will be able to do this in a years time. Some can already do it.

As long as the interface is seamless, you can use multiple storage devices (PC, server, external eSATA drive, your DVR's HDD, your game console's HDD) and not know the difference.
remember the scene in "naked lunch" where all the junkies are sucking off the mugwump. that where all this technology is leading.

Netflix Partners With Microsoft

Neflix is Microsoft's new media partner. Users will be able to watch the entirety of Netflix's film library directly from their Xbox 360s, and movies and TV shows can be shared with the avatar-based community called Live Party, just announced earlier this morning.

Microsoft's John Schappert said that there would be no additional cost imposed on the Netflix service beyond the regular Netflix subscription costs.

Sorry. I reported on that in the Smackie thread where we had been talking about that last week.
Just followed the live blogging of the Nintendo E3 presentation…

Highlights are the new 1:1 response Wiimote addon, think light saber swing.
A GTA title for the DS
Wii Sports Resort including a Frisbee game to play with a on screen dog
And Wii Music which will include a drum module that uses the Wiimote, Nunchuck and Wii fit board for drum pedals. Sounds kinda cool actually and it's not a strict rhythm game like Rock Band.

it's also interesting to note that DS sales are now almost 50/50 ratio of male to female recipients
but sadly no pikimen annoucement :(
class stuff here… nintendo makes a bunch of announcements of titles that will appeal to those new casual gamers who are driving the sales of the wii and all the hardcore nintendo fanboys are having a snit fit. where's the zelda, mario, etc they have abandon us in favor of those retched casual gamers. you know those casual games who are perfectly happy only playing wii sports and not buying any other sw…
In defense fo those non-casual gamers, E3 is not the place to make announcements for the non-hardcore types.

You can do those announcements anytime (like, right before Xmas?), but E3 has evolved into a hardcore gamers conference.

It must have been painful for those folks to sit through MS exclusive announcements yesterday and then be told today that you're not in our plans.
