RIP - Josh Burdette - thatguy

that was awesome, thanks for posting.
You're welcome, it was serendipity at its finest

I just stumbled on it perusing Franks videos.

Hope that the staffers and friends who went to the Baltimore Shindig had a good time at what must've been a weird Clutch show for them.

I heard two stage shoutouts for Josh at the Sep 14 festival; there were probably more

+1000

Haven't had a good cry about Josh in a while.  That ended that run.

Frank Turner's tribute to Josh.  Thanks to SPARX for posting in the youtube thread

I think of Josh every day…and I suspect that's going to continue for some time. This was really beautiful. Huge respect to Frank.
Understand that ..I'll burst into tears unexpectedly…A couple weeks ago all of the sudden b/c I thought: I just want to talk to them. Then, two days ago a recent Jimmy Fallon w/The Roots video/song performance I lost it b/c my brain thinks Questlove reminds me of Josh.  Guess it's not a fluke b/c next day I watched another and I almost did the same thing…I don't get rid of numbers either…ran across Paul's a couple of days before we lost him. Then was miserable at the club when every turn I took there was a guy who looked like him wearing one of Josh's BAMA shirts.  I expected the random tears now and just have to breathe through it for some time to come…just can't imagine the club without both of them.
Anyone know if there is going to be anything at the club for Josh? Understand if not, just checking in.
There are a couple videos of this performance out there now… but this is the best

Frank Turner's untitled tribute song from the other night

Thanks for sharing, kosmo.

EDIT: Different Angle, perhaps better sound.
Mike Doughty mentioned Josh multiple times the other night at his show, I think dedicated a song as well.

pretty sure no song has ever given me shivers like that.

wow.
I just finally watched this…I wish it would get easier, but it really doesn't. Great song though.
Did anybody catch Kojo at noon?  The topic was "Remembering Those Lost In 2013".  I only heard the first 15 minutes or so, but it started out with a long piece about Josh.  You can listen (at least for now) at

(look for the "listen" icon at the top left)
Whoa… can't say I'm a fan of Frank Turner, but that's a great tune. Lump in your throat inducing.
There is an equally throat lumping cover of the Frank Turner tribute, which I've reluctant to  link to.  It was recorded right after the song hit  the interweb

Pretty sure I listened… the cover by a woman with a piano?
Yup
It is a beautiful song indeed.

I never met Josh.  So many times I thought of going up and saying hello, but just never did.  My condolences to all of you that knew him.
Here's the cover of the tribute song mentioned earlier…

I feel like I'm going to listen Frank Turner on New Years Eve,  shed one  last tear and 2014 will be a new start. At least that's what I hope happens.

And thanks grateful,  for sharing.  I'm a huge fan of Ann Wroe's body of work.  I'm saving her obit of Mandela for the right moment.
