The Album Showdown Thread

vs

Crooked Rain as it's the only one I have.

2 vinyl copies, in fact. Not proud of that.

You've never heard the rest of their discography?
Shout at the Devil.

Too Fast for Love would be a better matchup.

Perhaps it went over your head, but the albums should be from the same artist.
In atomic's defense, there aren't any rules; it just says the Album Showdown Thread.  It doesn't say that you can't compare/showdown related albums by different artists.

Like Fat of the Land vs Vegas

Ten vs Nevermind

This thread is making me make too many difficult choices.

OK Computer

Queen Is Dead (by a very wide margin)
you guys are going way too quick!

I don't know, TFFL has this reputation of being their classic "punk"/Dolls album but I don't think it's that quality of an album. Shout is where they truly came into their own.

Oh, I agree.  My angle was more that Dr. Feelgood was MTV schlock and TFFL would have been a more worthy adversary for Shout.
I would go with the Queen is Dead but I have to say all the Smiths albums are great…. maybe the only ones i'm not as into are the collection of singles and b-sides..

I truly even love the last one so much.. i might pick the queen is dead because the boy with the thorn in his side is really hard to top but…….i like them all… meat is murder

the smiths where the last perfect band

belle and sebastian looked like they could do it but then they became a really bad joke.. there has been no band since the smiths with that perfect track record..
I felt like the first and last Smiths records were mostly crappy aside from a few tracks.
ooh, ooh, i wanna play

a lot of people, not you, were put off by the last smiths album..the reviews were certainly not as good… i love it though…

that song about the tacky badge, unhappy birthday, last night i dreamt.. good lord…its perfection to me..
