Never before have so many artists I like come together to put out something I already hate so much.

Hipster bands now love the Dead… and hipsters too!
I don't know if I've ever liked a cover album. That Dead thing looks like it might be okay once you eliminated 75% of the tracks. I really wish Bonnie Prince Billy was doing different songs. 'Bird song' is nice but the others don't do much for me. imagine BPB doing Loser or Morning Dew or They Love Each Other

I'm convinced it will get one listen and will most likely be a steaming pile.
I'm digging the Unloved record, but I like most things David Holmes is involved with.  The Little Green Cars record is good, but it's missing a really catchy single like their.  It's a bit too broody for it's own good.

has a new polyphonic spree album been announced?  they, sure are doing a lot of shit still, which really impresses me about that band.
Maybe… It has been three years.

I continually get teased with FB posts about recording and this one made me lol

Josephine Wiggs wrote:Studio Report: Tech Notes by Josephine

When I arrived at rehearsal, Kim was playing a riff on the bass. She gestured toward her Goldtop guitar and said, ?You work out something to play on that."

Yesterday, about to record my, ahem, guitar solo, I observed that the strings felt as responsive as? well? actual string?which is, ‪#‎tbt‬, how Kim likes it. I hesitated to ask, but was surprised when she agreed to installing a new set.

Later, when Kim played the guitar, she bemoaned it's zesty brightness and dearth of dark earthy tones. New strings should be subdued, according to the Kim Deal school of thought, just as pre-show flyaway hair is tamed with the application of a slice of ham from the deli tray. She proceeded to smear a technical mixture of hand lotion, coffee grounds and butter onto the strings.

Still too crisp for her, we rummaged in a drawer and found some strings possibly even older than those I took off. I unfurl them and ask rhetorically "Do you care that there is rust on them?"
