not being into hip hop is fine, it's personal taste… what i was giving you a ribbing about was your use of "hip hop rap" ;D

It still cracks me up how many of us were at that Lorde/RTJ show. Serious music board!  ;D

Love me some Prince but the latest re-issue for Sign Of The Times is 8 CDs + 1 DVD going for $160  :o…. I'm sure the book that's coming with is probably spectacular, which they would release it standalone… Not sure I need to own three CDs full of unreleased tracks

Yeah as much as I like prince and that period I think $50 would be Max I would pay

Box sets kind of just sit there…very few do more

The vinyl version for that SOTT release is $300 and they are doing a 7" single collection for a mere $100

and yeah my interest in boxsets is waning would probably only listen to those tracks only a couple times  and will be able to do that via a streaming service when it comes out.

So the new Cee-Lo Green album CeeLo Green Is Thomas Callaway is shaping up to be a keeper.. Clearly Dan Auerbach has mastered a very specific sound which is both retro and modern at the same time.  This record has similarities to the Yola record from last year, hints of country and soul effortlessly blended together.  And as I suspected several Muscle Shoals sessions musicians are on this record.

New Semisonic track out today indicates a nice return to form for them

and since I'm on a roll new BLACKPINK track is MEH… serious retread of their past tracks

almost forgot The Suffers have a new scorcher out this week as well..

I second Cornershop

technically not out yet (about 4 singles have been released)

other than that, not heard much new stuff I like.  would love to hear some suggestions (giving strokes and Jessie another try)

Cornershop is up there but the Fiona Apple and Pheobe Bridgers albums are so good I don’t know how there’s time to discuss anything else.

The majority of the good music getting made today is by women . . . for about the 7th year in a row.
