Other thing I heard about deepseek is crazy energy efficient
“It is reportedly 25 times cheaper than OpenAI’s O1 model and outperforms O3-mini-medium on some benchmarks”
This is why Nvidia Corp. made billions on their new chip, but deepseek doesn’t need them
Most AI leaders are not impressed as actual results
But it will only be a matter of time before it catches up
But right now a big barriers is the compute cost
Sam Altman said that they are losing money on their $200 a month pro subscribers

deepseek's efficiency is having a huge impact on the stock prices of hardware companies & AI providers that are banking on AI having huge hardware and energy requirements… as of a few minutes ago:
NVIDIA: -15.79%
Microsoft Corp: -3.78%
Advanced Micro Devices Inc: -6.49%
GOOGL: -3.34%
TSLA: -2.72%

I’m hearing that the Chinese invented a Bitcoin that only costs $5,000 and is just as good and the markets are spooked

I got one that only costs $0.0000012
I'll sell ya a million cheap
False equivalency
I'm wondering if AI will figure out a way to make crypto processing way more efficient and less power hungry

word on the street is the deepseek results may have been faked or the books were cooked
not surprising coming from China
Not issuing a Buy recommendation on Nvidia yet…but the market overreacted
although now we need to worry about Alibaba's latest AI model

I been meaning to say I just don’t trust anything coming from China.
But for sure they are a competitor to the US and have made great progress.

conspiracy-on-the-streets is that deepseek is a chinese psyop: if AI doesn't need massively powerful chips, taiwan becomes less of a strategic priority. right now the US would need to defend taiwan from a chinese invasion because it is dependent on those chips. remove the need for those chips, and the US won't be quick to intervene.

This still stands, market has not rewarded Nvidia on the news that Deepseek was mostly a deepfake
weighing on them…Trump
He wants Chips being made in the US
"They left us and went to Taiwan," Trump said, referring to …Nvidia, which manufacture their chips in Taiwan.
Will Nvidia get back to $140s…maybe. I'm sure Trump will do something in an effort to hedge against China's dominance in the A.I. race
It's a waiting game to see how Trump will deal with Tiwan on this issue
Now I do think if it dips under $100, I'd say that's a dip worth buying on

bytedance (tictok) has just started to preview their Goku AI (FYI a dragonball ref)
https://saiyan-world.github.io/goku/(give the page a little bit to load and scroll down)
yowza, this is going to destroy new actors being able to break in the biz by doing small, low pay advertisements
ad/marketing companies are also on notice
I really think between AI, robot cars and trump's wild moves ….I see a massive unemployment wave coming

so I agree with the Fight against the AI laws in the UK
but think this is kind rich coming from jimmy page, who was accused of plagiarizing the opening riff from the song "Taurus" by the American band Spirit for Stairway (they won, but so did OJ)
"If, during my session days, someone had taken my riffs without acknowledgment or payment, it would have been deemed theft. The same standard must apply to AI.

President Trump signed an executive order on Wednesday that aims to incorporate artificial intelligence (AI) into America’s classrooms.
“The basic idea of this executive order is to ensure that we properly train the workforce of the future by ensuring that school children, young Americans, are adequately trained in AI tools, so that they can be competitive in the economy years from now into the future, as AI becomes a bigger and bigger deal,” said Will Scharf, White House staff secretary.
gonna be honest, this is a good thing. China just made it mandatory that everyone 6 up get's AI training
