Why not?

If you sell cars to two customers in one day, does that mean that the customers get only half the service they would have received if you had only sold one?
If I sell the same car twice, someone gets a used car!

930 is the salesman, B&S is the car..yours is a bad analogy.
So B&S is playing a single show and then 9:30 is selling tickets to what? A "used" B&S show?

And you say my analogy is bad…….

B&S is providing two cars, an early one and a late one. 9:30 is selling both of them.

This really isn't a difficult concept.

Your complaint about moving the early show to a start time you may not be able to make is a valid concern. But this idea that it will only be half a show isn't.

I am sure every show they perform is a unique experience all the same.

Sorry Mankie, I understand your annoyance to only a very limited extent.

I dont see why it would stop you coming to see BDB. Hell I could even pick up tickets for you if you want to avoid the service charge…..

You could count it as a bribe toward further help…..
Had I known there was going to be two shows on the same night I wouldn't have bought tickets in the first place….that's my beef.

The BDB decision is just a personal boycott of the club until I calm down a bit…just like I won't be spending one penny in the club during the B&S show.

Unless B&S are using two completely different set of band members for the two shows…..it's the same fucking car!

Let's try this in simple baseball terms for the benefit of my American friends……the pitcher for the Redsocks was left in for too long last night and so began to pitch inferior pitches towards the end of the game, and therefore allowed the yankees to win the game….HAD HE KNOWN he was going to be left in for as long as he was, I'm sure he would've saved some of his energy for the latter innings and therefore pitched a little inferior in ther earlier part of the game.

B&S are the pitcher, they now know they will be left in for a long time, so are bound to save some energy for the latter innings…OR….will pitch inferior pitches during the latter innings.

Had the pitcher had the option of cutting the earlier innings down to two outs instead of three knowing he was going to be in for the long-haul, I'm sure he would've….B&S have the option to cut short the earlier innings because there's no set rules for how long an "innings" has to be during a show…

Now do you understand?

I hate baseball.

I understand your argument, but I don't think that B&S playing two shows is as physically demanding as a pitcher pitching nine innings instead of five. It's not like B&S is Andrew WK or something.
this deja vu with a slightly different cast of character..

wasn't you who said buyer beware in response to the practice of other concert promoters who dropped ticket prices or began offering two for one tickets in the face of sagging ticket sales. this after the hardcore fans had ponied up for full price tickets.

loads of artists do two shows in the same night, this is nothing new. i'll bet tom jones does two shows most nights in vegas…

Kosmo……minor detail, am I demanding my money back? NO! I've already said it's no biggie, but I am disapointed in the club for

a) being dishonest if they knew there was a second show all along.
or
b) changing the arrangement of the show after it sold out and they got their money from us.

GGW, if you think performing on stage for an hour, especially the brass section, is not as pysically demanding as throwing a baseballs for a few minutes then taking a break while the other bloke does the same, you're mistaken.

I'll trust you on that. You have much more experience blowing things for long periods of time.

And your experience is obviously rubbing your spit onto balls! :p
redsocks?

can anyone give me a review (positive or negative) of a previous instance of the two shows in one night? of a real band, not from a (although awesome) movie?

Seth, what gives? [/QB]
you're terminally unhappy?

the real reason I decided to go ahead and let them do another show that night (it was their idea) was so I could see just how ridiculous a thread could get

apparently it worked

I will be happy to refund your money, by the way, if you can't go to the show without driving yourself nuts
Thanks Seth, that was great.

I like your sense of humour…decieve your customers to liven up the message board.

Have you ever sold cars? ;)

If you worked for 6 hours would you not want twice the amount of money or more than for working for three?

Loon X infinity

Would never happen, I'm on commission

Loon X infinity X 2

So they're doing two three hour shows are they?Doors open at 7:30, support band from 7:31 to 7:32, B&S from 7:32 till 10:32….shame the second lot will have to wait an extra two minutes before they let them in.
How long was the B&S set when they played DAR?

Don't know…I had to give my tickets up for that one too!!! (through no fault of the band or DAR)

Maybe that's why this double-dipping fiasco is bothering me so much.
