belle and sebastian 2nd show?

does anyone else think its weird that they added and second show in the same night?

i'm am surely no fan, but i just find it really weird. and have some friends who are pretty confused by it. it seems like they're charging $30 for a prolonged encore.
no it's not weird at all. the second show was added because of the demand for tickets. its happened with a mighty wind. ideally they would add a second night but the b&s tour schedule doesn't permit it.

there will some diehard fans that will go to both. because the maybe some variation in the setlist.

personally it means i might get to see them this time, because i already have tickets for eddie izzard the same night.
Okay, if the second show has doors at 10:30, that means the first show audience must be out by 10:00 at the latest, which means the actual show will start very early. If this shit starts really early and I can't go after paying waaaaaay too much for the ticket in the first place, I'm going to be really, REALLY pissed off.

OR,

If they cut the first set time down to accommodate the second one, I'm going to be equally as pissed off.

Seth, what gives?
oh wow, that sucks. i didn't realize it was the same night on the main page. $60 for one marathon show would suck. is slumber party opening the second half too?
this sounds like something phish or widespread panic would pull
complain much?

i believe the b&S show at DAR was over by 10pm…
i predict support act on at 7:45pm
b&s on at 8:30pm with 90 minute set

no one is requiring people to buy tickets to both shows…
isn't that what the internet is for?
Look at the bright side…

Now I may get to catch the Decemberists that same night.

You planning on going to the early B&S show then?

That would make a great double bill……
Exactly, which is why I'd switch my late show tickets for early show tickets with someone (once I check with my show partner!).

Personally, I kind of wish I was going to the second set…generally, most bands I've seen that perform 2 sets get really cooking during the second set. The first is kind of a warm-up. so they don't blow their wad all at once. I'm debating if I will go to both. Sigh. If I knew what the setlist variations would be, then I would highly consider it.
I hear you, bunnyman, but I'd love to see the Decemberists as well that night.

May not be an option for me anyhow.
From what I'm reading it seems the first show will be too early, too short and kind of lame, compared to the second one…..Mank gets shafted yet again.

Ugh. That's what I'm thinking too. And then they're going to rush us out of there. Not cool.
Yeah, I already had a ticket, so I'm guessing it's the early show I'm going to.

Now I just hope that I can make it to the Black Cat in time.

I learned a valuable lesson today tough…I'll never buy a ticket for a show in advance ever again. If it sells out before the night of the show then I simply wasn't meant to go.
fyi when there were two mighty wind shows on one night… the first one didn't end until the doors where scheduled to open for the second…
it seems like they get you to go to all the trouble of buying one $30 ticket, then give you a teaser performance and THEN get you to dole out another $30 to stay for the good stuff. bad move, b&s. i was debating going to this show when it was first announced, and now i am glad i decided that $30 was too much. i mean, if they didn't play dylan in the movies or something in the first one, wouldn't a hardcore fan stay for the second to see whatever didn't get played during the first set?
…..or maybe the first show sold out really fast and they decided it would be nice to add a second show for those people who weren't able to get tickets to the first show?

Or perhaps I'm just not cynical enough?

It didn't sell out really fast at all, and I remember some comments on this board about how surprised they were that B&S hadn't sold out yet.
