So I'm midway through my total CD backup project, hitting the letter "J" this week, and it just hit me…
I really really miss the Jesus Lizard. Hand's down the best live band I've ever seen. Ever.

Canyon
Monster Magnet (which might still be around)
Urge Overkill
And I miss the Grateful Dead. My music tastes have moved on, but if they were still touring with Jerry, I'd still go (June 25, 1995 was my 62nd and last show). I will always love the songs, the playing, the community spirit and the drugs.

The Boo Radleys
Catherine Wheel
The Dead Milkmen
Inspiral Carpets (who I guess technically are back together, just not making it this side of the pond yet)
Jesus and Mary Chain
Ned's Atomic Dustbin
Paw
The Ramones
Sugar
but the one I miss the most is Elliott Smith. I feel it almost every fucking day, and 3 years after his death I cannot get over what a void it has left in me…weird for a guy I never met. For all I know he could have been a total jerk, but his music is so underrated in my book. I still listen to him at least 3 or 4 times a week. And Heatmiser was great as well.

They were always fun. One of my favorite concert moments was seeing them at the old club. I was getting crushed against the stage and decided I had had enough. I eventually managed to crawl up on the stage and move over to the side. I sat on the corner of the stage and watched the rest of the show from there.

Afghan Whigs…though I'm happy that Greg, John and Rick are recording some new tracks this fall for the forthcoming best of disc.
Agree on Superdrag, I just watched the videos for "Sucked Out" and "Destination Ursa Major" on YouTube yesterday.
