There is NO concert experience half as exciting as being AT a Nextel Cup race in person, and i'll stand on Rhett Miller's, Jeff Tweedy's, Bob Dylan's, Thom Yorke's or Morrissey's living room coffee tables and proclaim that with the top of my voice.
I still have a hard time saying "Nextel Cup" though.
Dylan 4/2 @ 930

REPORT FROM THE FRONT-LINE:
I have just returned from picking up my will call tickets. It is cold and rainy. There is already a line of approximately 20 (foolish) people waiting to get in the club. There is also already a short line to get will-call tickets, though it cycles through quickly. There is a big red SOLD OUT sign.
Roadies are moving lots of stuff, including moving *out* what appeared to be 9:30's big hanging speakers. (Is that possible.)
Summary of report: It is cold and rainy. People are silly.

Why, oh, why would someone wait to get in 930? You can always push to the front if you're obsessive about it. But it's not like there's a bad seat or something. SIlly people in their silly wet sleeping bags wasting their silly sick days.

Maybe they are out-of towners who spent all their $$ on tickets and couldn't afford last minute DC hotel prices…
Just got back myself and I think pretty much all of them are out of towners. I was thinking about staying out there but I'll pass. Just hope it stops raining before 7.

BOB Dylan!? Crap! I thought I was buying tickets for the Wallflowers!
Things I learned at the Bob Dylan Show
by chimbly
1. Bob Dylan is really old. He no longer looks like his album covers or sounds like his albums.
2. Even someone who self-identifies with the counterculture and is identified by his introducer as counterculture can stray far, far into the mainstream.
3. It's hard for a show to be exciting when nobody in the band moves more than two feet from where they're standing.
4. Bob Dylan and Clint Black (I assume) have a lot in common. Big touring show, cowboy hats, the black thing…
5. Sometimes, nobody can ruin a good, classic song quite like the artist himself.
6. Bob Dylan fans are no longer hippies and scenesters. They are, for the most part, khaiki-clad, BMW- driving men.
7. $70 is alot to spend on a ticket, and is likely to result in disappointment.

The LONG line at willcall tonite will NOT be. But I'll live with it!I have confidence that the 9:30 staph will keep it orderly. Let us know how it went. [/QB]
