V-Fest Roll Call

I tried to get to Lil Wayne just in time for the last song to get a place for the Black Keys, instead i had to listen to his 20 minute rant on pussy and a bunch of other garbage. I've seen plenty of other rap acts and none have ever been as offensive as this fucker.

Black Keys were great and deserved better, the organizers of the festival owe them an apology at the very least.
What's the matter, don't you like pussy?

I bet you were singing along to She and Him, ya fruitcake.

Fuck L'il Wayne. I can't believe we had to watch his posse posture on stage while we waited for him to get his ass out there. It's a complete and utter shame that a disrespectful little shit like him was allowed to cut in the set of the Black Keys.

Nice job on drums, Seth.
I didnt see She and Him either, spent that time seeing Rabbit in the moon and then the start of DeadMau5.

But when every other act is on time and Lil Wayne is standing around for 40 mins before starting it pisses people off
I saw a little bit of his act. It was alright for what it is. There was a crap load of people there though.
Haha, good stuff.

What happened to the guy running across the stage during The Stooges? It looked like he took a decent shot before jumping/falling into the security area. Was it as bad as it looked from far away. Iggy seemed to appreciate it.
he was escorted out of the barricade under his own power.
One thing I find funny about these festivals are the people who sell t shirts. I saw this one guy selling t shirts near the north stage. Two staff people followed him for awhile then got right up on him. Tried to take him down but really couldn't. He was a pretty big guy. The guy was asking if they were police and that they can't do this. He kept saying if they let him go he won't come back. So the guy was escorted out of the place. At the end of the night I see the same guy on the south stage exit where Kanye was playing. He had on one of those working passes around his neck. Which I have no idea how he got but probably counterfit. Two more guys come up to him but then he had some lame excuse saying he was there with some company. They didn't do anything this time. The t shirts these guys sell are always horrible. Always in the color black and just blah. Funny shit.
Oh I know what you mean. The awful thing about this year was that all the official festival t-shirts did sell out, which was totally upsetting to me, because I tried buying one Sunday evening and couldn't get one at all. I totally refuse to buy a bootleg tshirt. With that in mind, if anyone has an extra large official v-fest tshirt from this year that they want to get rid of, hit me. or if anyone knows if there might be more like through mail order, I'll totally do it.
Bootleg t-shirts are always way cooler than the official ones.

wasn't Soulwax on the bill - did no one see them perform? If I had gone, they would have been my number one band to see. 'Nite Versions' is an amazing album
Soulwax was very good indeed. I'm not a really big fan of electro, but they made me enjoy it. It was a full live set, btw.

I stayed in the dance tent most of the time. Only really came out for NIN, Iggy, and Gogol.
How about the free shit? Like those damn fruit water drinks. I must have drank like 20 of those each day and got a free bag with each can. Hoarding fest.
Apparently Trent Reznor was a brave one and watched Iggy Pop and the Stooges' set from the crowd. My friend found this on a blog somewhere.

<img src="http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa196/nin_news/photoblog2008/photo-742803-742864.jpg" alt=" - " />

With my luck, I probably walked past him and didn't realize it.

by the way, does anyone have or know what was the full NIN set list?
brooklynvegan has the full setlist
I wonder if Trent had one of those artists badges on. I saw a lot of those people but of course I didn't know who the hell they were or what band they were in.
Never mind, looking at the picture he does have one on as you can see the red necklace thing. Thats so funny no one recognized him. I would have def asked for his picture if I was in that area.
So, apparently all it takes for a festival headliner to not be recognized among the people who paid $200 to come see him is sunglasses?

How very odd
BRMC and The Black Keys were hanging out in the audience on Sunday, too.

It was pretty easy to spot Rob from BRMC since he was the only person wearing a damn leather jacket at an outdoor festival.
BRMC rocked pretty hard for gettin up so early after a night in Atlantic City, if I do say so myself. Good to hear others enjoyed them as well.

Besides them, I only saw Iggy & The Stooges, Bob Dylan, and NIN. Iggy was ridiculously fun to watch. Also fun to watch Rob from BRMC dancing to them (he didn't have his jacket on yet). Dylan…well, I suppose it's an acquired taste? We only lasted for a few songs. Is he a really big Peetie Wheatstraw fan or something? NIN…fucking mindblowing. I don't much pay attention to lights at shows and don't care for complicated bullshit….but that was just beautiful. Pure art.
