Coachella '07 - post confirmed acts here

Crowded House? Regrouped? Neil and Tim toured together a couple years ago, but I didn't think they were going to take it further than that.

Interpol and Travis? Can we expect a regular tour from them both again this year?

Interesting line up, but still not enough to sway me to go.
God damn it why RHCP? Do they have to fuck up every major festival now?
rage, bjork and the chili peppers?

are you sure thats not the lineup for Coachella 1995????

give me a break. i love coachella and i think its the best festival this side of the atlantic, but why must thier headliners almost ALWAYS be some washed up band from the 80s-90s? whats wrong with a newer band headlining?

Beastie boys, cure, tool, depeche mode? rage against the machine?

i'll give em coldplay and radiohead but other than that, their headliners are lame lame lame

at least the rest of the lineup looks awesome.
So . . . . you have an issue with Depeche Mode, Rage, & Tool but you like Coldplay. Coldplay. Ummmm . . . . yeah. Check.
Yup. It's confirmed. Rage is headlining. I may just have to make my 1st Coachella trip.

Rage, Bjork, Chili Peppers Sign On For Coachella

January 22, 2007, 12:00 AM ET

As first tipped here on Friday, a reunited Rage Against The Machine, Bjork and the Red Hot Chili Peppers will lead the lineup for the 2007 Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival, to be held April 27-29 in Indio, Calif. Sources tell Billboard.com the event will also feature a reunion gig from Crowded House as well as the Arcade Fire, Sonic Youth, Air, the Roots, Willie Nelson, Interpol, Manu Chao and Fountains Of Wayne.

Rage Against The Machine co-headlined the first Coachella with Tool in 1999, while Bjork was a headliner in 2002 and the Chili Peppers served in that role the following year. The full lineup will be announced imminently; it is also expected to sport sets by Jarvis Cocker, the Good, the Bad and the Queen, Hot Chip, Peeping Tom, the Decemberists, Arctic Monkeys, Tiesto, Kings Of Leon, Travis, Rodrigo y Gabriela, Lily Allen, Kaiser Chiefs, Silversun Pickups and LCD Soundsystem.

Sources say the Rage performance, the group's first since 2000, will likely be a one-off. Vocalist Zack de la Rocha has barely been heard from since the band split due to creative differences; fellow members Tom Morello, Brad Wilk and Tim Commerford went on to form Audioslave with ex-Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell.

Bjork will likely unveil material from her new studio album, due this spring via Atlantic. As previously reported, it will include contributions from producer Timbaland and vocalist Antony of Antony and the Johnsons.

Coachella tickets go on sale Saturday (January 27th)

I'd like to know why Willie Nelson is listed considering he is doing the Stagecoach Festival the following week as well. That does not make a lot of sense.
"God damn it why RHCP? Do they have to fuck up every major festival now?"

Apparently, yes. I am keeping my fingers crossed that Bonnaroo will somehow escape them this year.
From Pitchfork:

"Rage will headline the festival's final night, April 29, while Björk will headline on Friday, April 27 and the Red Hot Chili Peppers on Saturday, April 28. (Ugh Why do the Red Hot Chili Peppers always have to come around and ruin these sorts of things?)"
Also confirmed thru various sources:

Placebo
Faithless
Arctic Monkeys
Gotan Project
Happy Mondays
Pity the fools that didn't jump on the presale, with Ticketabastard charges you're looking at three bills EASY. But at least in this case it'll be worth every phuckin cent.
happy mondays? wtf? really?
Since Peeping Tom will be there I hope Mike Patton stabs Kiedis in the thorax.
I'm definitely skipping out this year. A few interesting bands, but this is not worth my time and money this time around, especially given that the bands I will most likely want to see will be in DC at some point this year anyway.
I'm too poor to go this year. I would really like to see Bjork though. I've never seen her. Looks like I'll be waiting to hear her other tour dates.

Can someone please make the Red Hot Chili Peppers GO AWAY? Thank you.
So . . . . you have an issue with Depeche Mode, Rage, & Tool but you like Coldplay. Coldplay. Ummmm . . . . yeah. Check.
no, silly, i dont like coldplay. but i can understand how they could headline such a festival.

welcome to the board, now stop assuming people like Coldplay.
So I take it the police thing isn't happening. :(
The Crowded House reunion makes a certain amount of sense, given that Neil and Tim Finn have continued to collaborate, and probably want to take advantage of the US release of the CD/DVD marking the 10th anniversary of Crwded House's final concert in Sydney.

However, given Paul Hester's suicide a couple of years ago, I'm surprised the rest of the band would want to do a reunion.
So I take it the police thing isn't happening.
either that, or they're still trying to keep the police thing "secret", as in worse kept secret ever. or maybe they really are no longer on the bill.
Doesn't the "rest of the band" consist of one other guy?
