Coachella '07 - post confirmed acts here

Luckily one of my sisters friends lives in LA, so I'll be staying there for free.

I got my tickets off of orbitz.com. The prices vary from day to day, but I've noticed that they are cheaper on Tuesdays/Wednesdays.
you're going to drive back and forth from LA each day?!? depending where in LA, it's 1.5 to 2.5 hours away - without traffic, of which there will be plenty during the festival. might be do-able if you leave each day before the end of the last act (i.e. avoid the rush), otherwise… hope you're good at sleeping in cars and the driver isn't.
yeah i dont know how its going to work out. let's just say i wont be driving.
For people who dont mind flying into LAX you can fly roundtrip from BWI to LAX on Southwest for 200 per person non stop. Add a cheap rental car (which is easy to do on a weekend in LA) or find a ride and you can probably save money over all the Orbitz/Expedia/whatever deals.
Of Montreal added 4/27
EDIT: Coachella 3 day pass is sold out :)
wow.

you can still get a one-day pass for friday. but all 3-day passes are gone. i'm willing to bet that a lot of SoCal folks ended up buying 3-day passes just for sunday.

better start now to mentally prepare myself for a weekend among the masses. very large masses.
Re: The Jesus & Mary Chain

Their drummer for this show (or tour) will be Loz Colbert (ex-Ride).
Neko Case playing with New Pornographers :)
wow, it's been over a month since this thread has seen any activity, i had to go back 8 or 9 pages to find it.

ONLY 16 DAYS TO GO!!! i know that Joe M, azaghal and myself are in… anyone else? bnyced0?

my major concern is dealing with heat during the day and cold in the evening nights - how to pull it off clothes-wise without it being too much of a hassle… layers, i know, layers, but i'm not looking forward to dragging a jacket and long pants with me in a backpack. how hot and cold does it typically get? do we need to get in to survival mode here?
I've been wondering the same things re:clothes.
i'll be wearing sleeveless shirts, loose shorts, and comfy shoes :)
joe: but won't you be cold at night?
ummm, i don't think it will be cold at night…
hmmm…lemme ask the coachella board…
Friend was hell-bent on camping. And I hate the cold more than just about anything.
does anyone know if there are buses from long beach to indio for the shows?
ok, i've said this before, but i'll restate.

WATCH THE FORECAST!

i've gone 3 times and it was different every time.

year 1, i wore shorts and tees and it got down to like 55 at night. a bit chilly!

year 2, i brought a hoodie to wear at night and it was 107 all day and dropped to a chilly 90 at night, so i carried around a hoodie for nothin.

year 3 was perfect, 100 during the day, 75 at night. :)

the point is, if its going to break 100, bring a long sleeve white shirt or something. its the desert, remember to cover up. i was amazed to actually be COOLER with a long sleeve shirt than a tee when the temps soared.

say, if it was this weekend.. you're looking at 81 as a high, 60 as a low…so just bring a hoodie and you'll be toasty til midnight!

wow, 88 degrees at Coachella! fucking perfect weather!
Cut Chemist just added, 4/29! It'd be nice to see a Cut Chemist/DJ Shadow collab on stage!

Yeh I'm in, I haven't missed one yet and not going to start now. I'm flying in on Thursday night to escort some Brits from LA to Indio. It's been a mixed bag on the weather, the first coachella was in October and mild, but has been in late april/early may ever since and the weather has been scorching til about dusk then cool (not cold) until close. I've gotten to the point where I normally don't enter until about 4 or 5 pm, over the year I see most of these acts and sweatin it out all day into the night has lost it's luster. I normally bring an extra shirt/pullover in a back pack. Can't imagine ever needing pants though, between rockin out or dancing legs are usually in motion.
