HEY REDSOCK!

how about the brewers and tigers?? both 2-0.

break up the devil rays!!!
What about Chet Lemon? What about Lance Parrish? What about the 1984 World Series?

It was great living in Michigan when the Tigers were good.
I wonder what Bob Moose and Rennie Stenett are up to these days?

Obviously, I'm a big Sox fan, but I did have a soft spot for the mid 80's Tigers. Lance Parrish is one of my favorite players ever, and Trammel, Whitaker, Gibby, Morris and Tanana…yeah, I was really into baseball cards.
Whenever Whitaker was up, you'd hear the stadium echo with "Looooouuuuuuuu".

To be honest, the mid 80's was the only time I was really into baseball. And that's pretty much due to the Tigers.

ahh yes, frank tanana. . .for some reason, he was my favourite pitcher when i was growing up. i think i finally got all of his baseball cards when he retired, but topps started doing re-issues recently (the set is called "archives"), and in the 2001 set there's an autograph card. doesn't show up on ebay too often.
How much are my two Ricky Henderson rookie cards worth these days? Last time I checked, maybe ten years ago, they were at $180 each.
I've got a 1984 Mark McGwire USA Olympic card. Wonder if that's worth anything.

1980 topps, yeah? presuming that it's still in excellent condition, card is worth $70. will probably go up when he goes into the hall of fame.

as for thirsty's mcgwire. . it's worth $50, assuming the same conditions as above. it too will probably go up when he enters the hall of fame.

That card, plus the 1985 topps Extended Roger Clemens rookie card were the gems of my youth…
speaking of the mid-80s tigers. . .today in 1984 jack morris threw a no-hitter against the white sox.

I had Bartolo Colon going for my fantasy team, so i was quite happy to see that score.
In case you missed it, the Angels scored 10 runs with their eyes closed last night against the Mariners #1 pitcher, and Colon pitched 6 innings without giving up an earned run.

Think the AL West is shaking in their boots these day?

I see you didn't miss it. Glad to hear that.
Moyer aint their best pitcher, he's about 50 years old. Pineiro is their best pitcher, he will shut them down tonight.

21-7 with a 3.29 ERA at age 39 ain't so bad. Is 40 really that much different?

Nobody will shut the Angels down this year.

Eckstein
Erstad
Guerrero
Anderson
Glaus
Guillen
Salmon
Molina
Kennedy

Only injuries can stop that lineup. They could average 7 runs a game.

I think Arthur Rhodes just got his only two saves of the season.

because hudson/mulder/zito/redman/harden will shut down everyone and have no need for a closer to save any of their games.

Right, because Colon/Washburn/Escobar/Ortiz/Lackey are mince meat.

And there is no better bullpen in baseball when Brendan Donnelly returns. Weber/K-Rod/Donnelly/Percival.

Even DePodesta left Oakland because saw this Angels team on his spreadsheet and knew that the A's were in trouble this year.
