I guess I see viewing kiddie porn as a moral depravation issue rather than a legal issue. Though if one is paying for it, in a small way they are aiding in it's existence, even if they are doing "research". If he were doing legit research, he should have attained permission. It is always after they get caught that they say it is for research. Another thing that pisses me off is those reporters that try to smuggle fake bombs into airports to show how bad security is or how easy it is to buy designer drugs. Once it is shown on tv that they did it, should they be arrested? - I certainly would like to see that happen!

Whether it was actually for research or not is for the courts to resolve.Should he just announce to the world beforehand that he is doing kiddie porn research? he was fond of his drugs,his brothers admitted that andy had a big drug problem they also said that the best moment of there career was when andy joined them on stage, the bee gees are going to carry on without maurice, so markie will still have a chance to buy his first bee gee record.

Its ironic that the guy who writes "hope I die before I get old," gets old and has this kind of fall from grace. I really do feel bad for the guy, whatever his motivation. Once upon a time he focused his creative energy in a way that exorcised his demons (assumably) and made him a hero. It seems his energies (whatever's left) are now sadly misguided. I don't understand the thought process of abhoring the subject matter, but paying money to support it. I imagine he could have completed his "research" using free content. Its sad to see someone win on so many levels, but ultimately look like a loser. Is he a child molester? I don't think so. Is he a sorry old loser? Well, it kind of looks that way.
