Just returned from her show at the TLA in Philly. I have to say I was skeptial going in, but the show really was fantastic. I realize that she may be completely forgotten about by June, but what the hell, if you can go to a show enjoy the music, and have fun who cares. Those of you going friday will be impressed.

Umm, it seems like quite a few of you haven't heard Amy Winehouse's music, yet you're full of opinions about her. Let's not mix words – Amy Winehouse is more talented than Lily Allen, has a better voice, but unfortunately, won't sell as well. (Kinda like Nikka Costa - shitload of talent, should sell well, no promotion.) IF you want to hear Amy's music without waiting for the U.S. release, you can buy it for about $15 at www.cd-wow.com (shipping takes about a week). I hope Amy comes to DC - 9:30 or Black Cat, maybe? And no, I'm not going to the show. I've heard one song by Lily Allen, and it almost made my ears bleed.

I finally heard Amy Winehouse last night. The song I heard sounded like a carbon copy of Fiona Apple. I'm not saying that's a bad sound.

You don't hear any Fiona Apple? I hear it in the pounding chords on the piano, deeper voice (neither are sopranos) and the tormented/put-up-on lyrics. Again, I just heard the one song but that was the vibe that came through.

Ha, Ha….very funny. Amy doesn't sound like Fiona at all. You could play both at the same time and clearly see the difference. I also think at first Amy can look like a tranny but when you look close you can tell. When I first saw her on youtube someone posted she looked like the Arquette brother who dress up like a girl. I love both artist but think you can clearly tell the differences by not only voice but also looks.

Tomorrow I am going to put a roll call out for the show on Friday!!!!!
