I was skeptical about this whole Amy thing, but I saw her on Letterman last night…Pretty, pretty, pretty good. I can't get song out of my head. It really reminds me on the Ronettes.
I just bought the Amy Winehouse album at…ummm…a store that was offering it for $7.99. It doesn't have that new cover (which I prefer) but the Jennifer-Beals-in-"Flashdance" UK one. I haven't opened it yet.

According to the back of the CD, "Addicted" isn't on it but then neither are "You Know I'm No Good - (featuring Ghostface Killah)" and "Love Is A Losing Game - (Acoustic Demo)."

Maybe there are two different US versions.

Brian
the "You Know I'm No Good - (featuring Ghostface Killah)" is a hidden track and pretty useless inclusion…

So my reaction based on a couple listen is the Alice Smith record is way better and it sounds like the comeback effort of a once popular singer who was down and out more than a second effort. It sounds like Soul music as created on a computer instead of live in a studio. Most of the backing tracks are stiff with the rhythm section plodding along. Amy has a limited vocal range not unlike the singer in the Detroit Cobras, but Rachel Nagy has more passion in her delivery. To me it's all a bit Lite FM and will stick with Alice Smith, Brazilian Girls and the Detroit Cobras.
She's to come to 930!

She's been on national TV!!!

When she gonna get booked????
Who got a ticket to the Highline Ballroom??? I need one for the 9th.
