i'm going to stand by this simple statement… a few stinkbugs can ruin it for all involved

yes..ban those with opposing view points. how "left" of you.
it's no wonder how shows like oc, the hill, gossip girl, smallville, laguna beach, most reality shows, etc… are so popular. people live in highschool neighborhoods of the mind. cut out those parts of your brain and eat it! (it is halloween time and most zombies approve this message.)
it's not the opposing viewpoints, it's the way they are expressed. I would welcome some intelligent discussion of different views, [on many topics, not just music] but that seems to have been vastly reduced on the board lately, in favor of name-calling and insults.
This makes me less interested in the board and I view it less often. The shit is just boring. I don't think I'm the only one who feels this way.

let's stay focused people, i know we have a proud tradition of going off topic around here, but start another thread this time if need be…
yes people, back to the name calling and personal attacks.

hahaha
This board has an odd dynamic. On the one hand, there is the omnipresent snarkitude. On the other hand, you can openly admit to being totally naiive about some band or other and ask for advice, and people will take the effort to clue you in, whereas on some music sites you'd be run out of town by a posse of sniggering hipsters. And I also know from my one Forum Party that people are actually quite nice in person.

we previously had another boardie in a politically unrelated post call another a bitch and there was nothing done on the part of the mods. suddenly personal attacks matter when in regards to politics but not just general posting?
we should have a forum party where people do nothing but call each other names and personally attack them. then do keg stands and shots of liquid cocaine.

The Social Policy web site has blocked access to that article, but it is available here. I think it's very illuminating and it's understandable why Social Policy would block access to the article.

I would agree that there is nothing about Obama or his campaign working in concert with ACORN on this issue, but there is a significant amount of information out there, a lot of it cited by Kurtz in his two articles on this topic about Obama's ties to ACORN.
I'll stop at that because I risk veering to far into the realm of opinion if I go any further.
