the other will be playing with his organ……..
Did anyone see him on TNT or TBS last night during Demolition Man? I dont know much about him but he seemed like a pretty cool person. Makes me wanna go and buy one of his albums….well i dont know about that. He said he might be coming out with three albums this year, Solo, Old 97's (I think thats the name of the band….i know the 97's part is right) and one with some bass player friend of his. He even laughed about an album he made in High School and was glad that their was only 1000 of them in circulation.
Didn't catch that, but thanks for the info, Guiny.
The bass player friend is probably Murry from the Old 97's. The sometimes perform as a duo calling themselves the Ranchero Brothers. They've never released an album as RB so it would be very cool if they did.
Murry produced the Rhett solo album from his high school days. Apparently, Rhett was really into Britpop in high school, and took on a Bowie-inspired fake British accent that he sang in on that record. Reviews I've read have pretty much agreed that it sucked.

quote:
Originally posted by Guiny:
Did anyone see him on TNT or TBS last night during Demolition Man? Were any of y'all there? I was very happy he did "Wish the Worst" off of Hitchhike to Rhome and "Goin' Goin' Gone" off of Wreck your Life. Most of the songs he did were by request; I'm glad most of the requests were for Old 97's songs.
i assume most of you will be at the rhett miller/neil finn show this evening?
We will be at Rhett/Neil, though I sort of agreed with the guy at Borders who said
"That was good, I didn't want to see Neil Finn anyway." If I'd known he'd be playing for free, probably wouldn't have bought tickets…

Fico, do you have a silky black mullet? If so, I think I saw you!
That mullet was fabulous! I had the pleasure of standing behind his owner for a while…. great show.
Yes, yes, and yes. Great movie. Que coisa!

quote:
Originally posted by Fico:
specially Cidade de Deus the new Brazilian flick which I heard is powerful as hell

Ah, I looked for you, but didn't see you. Oh well. Yes, that was me in the green coat. Were you there the whole time? I came at the end of "Come Around", the lame single. Was that the first song?
I wanted to ask him about the future of the Old 97's, but alas didn't care to stand in line…

quote:
Originally posted by Fico:
Rhett I was there… I believe I saw you leaving while I was in line to get my copy signed…you looked like Butch Vig and had an olive green jacket I believe… I just saved myself 20quid..I wasn't crazy about seeing Neil Finn, so know that I saw Rhett I'll take my money and catch up on some movies I've yet to see..specially Cidade de Deus the new Brazilian flick which I heard is powerful as hell…oh and yeah, Rhett's a top geezer..

I think I know which guy Celeste was referring to, and I don't think that was you.
I was amused by the short little gay guy behind us singing along to all of the songs. Rhett's such a sex god i guess. yes. he is a bundle of energy, even when only playing acoustic.

quote:
Originally posted by Fico:
I thought I came in during the first song but around the 3rd song someone requested a song and he said he opened up with that one..but I reckon I could've only missed one song… he great energy for standing by himself with an acoustic..I expected the more conventional sitting on a stool approach..I really enjoyed it…
While I was on the line I saw you walking opposite me heading for the stairs,..was gonna jump over to say high but I was close to the front of the line by then…I was sitting on the floor to the left of where the seats were…
Celeste..silky black mullet?? don't know why you mean by that.. but I guess its sort of a mullet in the sense that its longer in the back than in the front.. had some scruff facial hair and glasses on…
Thirsty…ainda nao he visto o filme, mais meus amigos falan muitas coisas boas…

interesting. my friend just told me not to stand too close to him tonight, ie, move away from the front of the stage because he produces a lot of "stage sweat" and if i didn't want his shaggy hair shaking sweat onto me, i'd be wise to move away.

quote:
Originally posted by Fico:
for an alt-country bloke he packs the birds in…
