Ahhhh…yet another great reason to be in SF - wireless networks galore!
ESPN is using a cover version of Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" by some band that was probably on the Warped Tour. That's the third Phil Collins cover I've heard in two months - revival?
Finley's grand slam has been shown twice, before the first pitch has been thrown? Anyone, care to take the over/under? I'll set it at 4.
Jonny Miller and Joe Morgan have the call.

Williams has been getting his ball up a little bit, which is a bad sign for a sinker ball pitcher. The Dodgers only managed two flare singles however.
One odd note, the teams aces are throwing today: Woody Williams and Odalis Perez (seven wins all season!). With Schilling, Colon, Clemens, Santana, Mussina, and Ortiz on the other six teams, those are two pretty sorry aces.
Maybe you don't need it with 14 Gold Gloves behind you in St. Louis, but not a single Gold Glove in LA has to be worrysome for Dodger fans.

Just walk him next time.
It was a great pitch (in a great ptich sequence, changing speeds and location), low and inside and Pujols went down and crushed it! That's 3 HR's in 11 at-bats against Odalis Perez for Pujols. Unbelievable.
Any chance Milton Bradley hits somebody in these playoffs?

Joe Morgan: "He needs to use the curve ball to get the the double play here"
Jonny Miller: "He's only got 1 double play in his last 24 starts, Joe, which is odd for a sinker ball pitcher."
Williams gets Cora to ground into a double play with his sinker, not his curve ball.
They should let Venerable and I have the SAP channel to call the game.

Gray Miller reports: "Tony La Russa asks his bench coach 'what do you got?' and the bench coach said '5.7' as the time it takes Perez to get to home plate. Renteria steals second base on the next pitch"
Joe: "Those numbers are great and all, but you still have to read him correctly"
Renteria is picked off on the next pitch but Odalis inexplicably drops the ball as he's chasing Renteria between the bags. The Dodgers had him out and that has to cost them a run against the Cards, doesn't it? Great insight by Joe Morgan though.

Anyone but Joe Morgan… I think that they have one of Roberto Clemente's kids calling the game on SAP…

For those scoring at work, or if you're alone, that's scored a caught stealing for Renteria, and an error on Perez, despite the fact there was no out recorded, nobody advanced, and no pitch to the plate. I love MLB stats some time.

Walker looked silly striking out on his first at-bat, but not this time. He tattooed a first pitch curveball over the right-field fence. And the best fans in baseball have now asked for a curtain call from both sluggers after their HR. Great scene.
And Odalis' reward: Pujols, then Rolen, Renreria, Edmonds, Sanders…..

And the rout is on, Perez is chased in the third. 6-0 cards. There is no way Jeff Weaver wins game two in a must win situation. The Dodgers only chance was to win game one and with no pressure, the good Jeff Weaver may show up. He'll be lucky to make it past the third himself.

So true.
I'm still amazed he went from a clubhouse cancer in Anaheim to a likeable guy in St. Louis. At least he got to see Washburn, Erstad, Salmon, Percival and Anderson get ring without him. That made me feel good.
