i'm only partially excited about this gig. over-all, there isn't much to justice's stage show other than two guys pumping their fists behind laptops/keyboard, a wall of amps and some strobe lights. if you like their music, then it'll be a great show for you. if you like french nu house (or whatever it is that they're calling it these days), or you like shaking your thang, you'll probably like the concert. but their live show won't win over many new converts.
that being said, i'm more optimistic about seeing them at the 930 than i would be about seeing them at terminal 5 again - much better space. but i can only imagine how great it would have been to see them back in the day in a non-packed club or party. i hope (most probably in vain) that this doesn't sell out.

i'm confused… that
is the download link. also, that recording, while effectively capturing their energy, sounds pretty horrible (insert predictable "it's not the recording, it's the music" comment).

I see mine and one saying the Justice tickets have gone on sale…
So no more than one allowed on the message boards these days?
Saly- you're welcome
Cell - They don't actually use laptops and you don't go for JUST seeing them live you go for the experience, when you get down to it it IS just 2 guys standing on stage having a great time making people dance. ANd why hate on a genre of music made SOULY for the purpose of making people dance?
Seriously? It's a party genre and if you're not gonna take it in for what it is then that's that. It will be awesome but sadly DC is dead compared to the crowds in Baltimore.

there was
the one about justice biting off more than it could chew, too (hangs head in shame).

they definitely use laptops in their live sets. i should know,
i saw them back in october  they sometimes do DJ sets, but as far as i know this tour is a "live set".
chill. i'm not hating, i
love dance music. hell, i've gotten on planes to see electronic acts and djs. as i wrote in my review of the T5 show (SEARCH FUNCTION, PLEASE), justice need to turn it up a notch visually if they want to widen their appeal. if they were playing in an un-packed warehouse, their show would be awesome b/c there would be room to dance. instead, i fear the 930 is going to be packed full and you won't have much space to move. so: can't really dance (frustrating), not much/enough going on on stage (visually boring)… now do you see how this might not be the most compelling show for a non-fan?
it's a dance act in a rock'n'roll outfit, and my complaint is that it could be a lot better. other electronic acts can go beyond "just 2 guys standing on stage having a great time making people dance", why can't justice? that being said, i'll be there. i really like their music.

well hopefully sweetcell will confirm the fact that i have nothing against "party music" and electronic music in general seeing as i own vinyl by the likes of Inner City, Derrick May, Juan Atkins from 1988 aka the dark ages of techno… but what i've heard from Justice is they are a bunch of pretenders to the throne..

They didn't make people dance at Coachella last year.

well, that's a little strong… they definitely didn't make joe dance, and i eventualy lost interest - too much other cool stuff going on at the time. but there were certainly throngs of people in the sahara tent that were eating it up.
joe - based on their show at T5 this past october, i can assure you they've gotten a lot better in the make-people-dance dept.

I can agree that other acts going around have a more intriguing live show, such as Simian Mobile Disco, but most electronic acts I've seen just use the house lights and no one really has their own stage setting outside of Simian Mobile Disco and Daft Punk. Although it would be awesome if Justice up'd their lighting game, at this point I can imagine that they can afford it. But since this is their biggest U.S. tour to date we can hope they're planning something big.
As for the laptop thing I know for a fact they use laptops to produce music [duh] but Ive only seen videos like this one where they arent using laptops:
http://youtube.com/watch?v=jkyhqE_VOEE, but if they use laptops it would be news to me and not surprising news at that. But they for sure haven't used them in the past and I think that's way more awesome.

The biggest question about this show is this: Will they perform songs from their ONE album, OR will they DJ 80s music like they did at Coachella?

Judging by their latest Fader[
http://www.zshare.net/audio/5697192cc6da57] mix I doubt they'll dj JUST 80s dance music, but judiging by their rejected Fabric [
http://hippiehippiehoorah.blogspot.com/2008/01/justice-rejected-fabric-mix.html]mix, I wouldnt put it past them.

"absolutely amazing"? how can you even listen to that? sounds absolutely horrible… pure distorsion.
on the upside, you'll be very pleasantly surprised when you hear how clean they sound at the club next week :)

The only justice I'm looking forward to is when the Republicans are booted out of the White House. Unfortunately, I don't think the injustice of GW Bush will be long forgotten in five years the way the band Justice will be.

how would that be unfortunate? i hope GWB is long remembered for his (more precisely, his regime's) injustices. i hope that all future leaders, when in a time of crisis, remind themselves to "not pull a GW".
i agree with your assessment that justice, the band, will most probably be forgetten in 5 years. they'll probably get a one-a-month spin on the "classic electronica" radio stations, tho. can't wait for that format to hit the airwaves…
