the thing is FM capability has been built-into various other digitial audio players and this feature has always been po-pooped by the iPod crowd as unessecary, funny how extra dangly stuff is suddenly appealing…
What will the keynote bring?
Ah, OK. This makes more sense. However, I won't be able to use this with my Bose sound dock. But, that's what I have a tabletop radio for.

My Napster player cira 2003 had FM both ways from Day one. And Markie said useless and he would never use it. Now that it's white and has iPod in the name, he likes it.

Ok the implementation looks cool, I think the product is a poor idea, but I am sure apple will sell a boat load of them.
You might as well buy a car only to sit in it and just listen to the radio.

Apple to roll out more products Feb. 28
A press invitation to Apple Computer Inc.'s Cupertino headquarters on Feb. 28 has started another guessing game about new products.
Reporters were invited to see "some fun new products from Apple" in the invititation that was delivered on Tuesday.
Analysts speculate that Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) will probably roll out a new Mac computer running on Santa Clara-based Intel Corp.'s (NASDAQ:INTC) chips.
American Technology Research analyst Shaw Wu said in a research report Wednesday that he believes Apple's new notebook computer could sell for $1,299 to $1,499. "We believe what will make this new consumer notebook unique and likely a top seller, is its small size and widescreen cinema display."
Others believe that new versions of Apple's iPod will be unveiled, including maybe a wireless iPod or an iPod video with a widescreen .

This thread is about as interesting as William Shatner's sex tape.

Did you feel a tremor in The Force last night?
Smackette tempted me to the dark side last night with a Video iPod as a gift. I haven't opened it yet for a myriad of reasons, but most importanly a fear that what will be released tomorrow might make the video iPod second rate technology. Anybody (Markie, pollard) got a pulse on this?

I have been too busy to keep up.
Apple will probably release a crappy boombox and perhaps a touchscreen ipod.
Microsoft will make origimi and it will be as big a sales success as psp.

Did nothing to help in my decision.
Kosmo, did you end up getting a Zen?

no i'm sticking low tech at the moment… i got one of those car fm transmitters that uses a flash drive for storage but mainly for podcasts. still prefer cds or cdrs of emusic mp3s. although the new ricky gervais podcast may cause a change…
Thanks Kosmo - I'm in the same boat. I'm tired of keeping two databases, and there's no way I can keep Smackette from the Pink Mini iPod.
Has anybody with the video iPod had trouble/success with movies they've created on their own and firmware 1.1 (preloaded on this iPod)? I don't see me buying a lot of movies from iTunes, but I would convert a ton of my own stuff off the TiVo.

it also appears apple just can't get their butts in gear with regards to a home theater pc, the new mini is only baby steps in that direction with no pvr software, etc… when are the new tivo's coming our?
