IT BEGINS! B&S Tickets

Anyone get their mitts on the Middle Distance Runner EP the band was handing out after the B&S show? I'm really enamored with them at the moment and can't wait to hear their full CD and see them live. The bands lead singer used to be in a Pittsburgh band called Black Tie Review. Based on the EP they get 7.9 on the kosm-o-meter.

ok, so although the New Pornos and B&S didn't need DJs, being the music geeks we are myself and Kosmo thought it would be fun to post our 'shadow' DJ set lists….Kosmos busy getting some novocaine for his soul so I'll post both of our set lists….we did this blind and ended up with only two overlapping bands, Sloan and Prefab Sprout……

I've been hard at work on that playlist for awhile :D

After attending J. Luc's Freedom Rock chats one would think that I would remember the most obvious DC song for B&S to cover that being "Afternoon Delight" by the Starland Vocal Band…

Would have been better than Fugazi, but I can't think of that song and its "surprisingly inappropriate lyrics" without thinking of Arrested Development!

Screw Lollapalooza and all the other festivals. I'm going to go see Belle and Sebastian at the Hollywood Bowl with the LA Philharmonic!

These old shadow DJ Setlists have me all nostalgic for the period in my life when I had the time and energy to keep up with a least a couple local bands.

Just listed to that Middle Distance Runner album from 2006, such as great album from them…

I got to say really enjoying their recent Late Developers album!

The NPR recording from one of the 2005 shows at 9:30 with that song is absolutely incredible. Such a great tune and they crush it in the rare moments they play it live. Everything that is great about B&S is summarized in that song.

would be interested in hearing that

I feel like by 2001 I'd stopped listening to new B&S
at the time that Jonathan David (single..not ep?) had no appeal to me
Legal man was kind of it for me

They have had tons of great songs since then for sure, but I felt like my head was filled with so many good B&S songs it just seemed like diminishing returns at that point
