I think punks purposely strategically rip their clothes to look cool. I don't think Tweedy gives a rats ass about what he looks like, which is a good quality for a man to have, in my estimation.
Most men try to look respectable and not like a homeless loser, I think they call it "self respect" or something like that.
*pssst* grunge is dead rhett…and was never really that cool in the first place.

I know I'm SO behind in this thread, but I am losing my shit over the Feargal Sharkey reference. In college, years and years ago, my nut job anglophile roommate *loved* him. I can picture his overly angled face right now. TOO great. I love this board, y'all!

Yes, but you like Feargal Sharkey. Case closed.
How many Wilco albums have you listened to in their entirety, and how many shows have you been to? If you have been to a show, as well as listend to all six of their albums, and still hate them, well that's fine…

I HATE WILCO..THEY ARE TOTAL SHITE!

Japan and David Sylvian cross over all boundaries and bring folks together…. Okay, so almost everyone I know has never heard of either, but that is amazing music. Simply amazing.

Agreed Mankie. David Sylvain has a great voice and "Ghost" is one of the best singles of the 80's.
….easy there big fella, you've agreed with mankie regarding music, in public no less!

sonick, I get confused all the time. Especially when folks go and change their display name again and again. Though I'm now recognizing a few of those folks who've posted like 4000 or more times.
FYI, I'm not into Wilco, but I don't think that means they suck by any means. Though Rhett, it makes sense that I didn't know Whiskeytown 5 years ago, 'cuz they're not really my cup of tea. Don't think it makes me ignorant to be unfamiliar with music I'm not that into anyway.

Uh oh. You can hang out with me, but can we please please please listen to the Smiths instead of Wilco?
Okay, I've just gotten through this whole thread. WAY too funny.
And Markie, do you really like Cursive? I got the latest album and I can't stand it – it's the guy's voice, along with the music or something. I just listened to it once, in the car with a friend who thought it was pretty bad to. i might try it again, but I think that one's a no go.

You must not have been reading very closely, I like Cursive, not Markie, in fact, Markie hates Cursive.

(1) I say ALL Smiths fan (who are willing to acknowledge so) should be invited;
(2) Mank, I haven't been around long enough for you to piss me off, how bad can it be?!?
:) There'll be no Smiths party without the mank in attendance. (that should kill it for everyone)

Hey, so far so good. Notice he gets into a lot of flame wars (though the wars on this board are *usually* not quite as insiped as others), but I find myself just laughing at the whole damn thing.

This is a list not to be taken seriously! Here are some bands taken off the list:
The Doors
Paul Oakenfold
Live
Arrested Development
Primus
Here are some bands that should be on this list:
Hole: Courtney Love is one of the most overrated women in rock. She would never been where she was without one Kurt Cobain.
CrazyTown: Other than the hit Butterfly, their 2 albums contained generic rap-rock crap.
Kelly Osbourne: If you thought Ozzy's attempt at the national anthem was bad, just listen to what his daughter put out.
Methods Of Mayhem: Rap-rock and nu-metal at it worst.
H.W.A: Eazy's E's terrible attempt at creating a female version of NWA
Milli Vanilli: The sad story of 2 guys who wanted to be famous, but they'll be the butt of all jokes forever.
Taco: Putting Off The Hits!
Kris Kross: When more people know for forgettable fashion trend than your music, you're in trouble.
Another Bad Creation: poor man's New Edition
Billy Ray Cyrus: If there's a reason I hate country, this was the artist.
Jeremy Jordan: Wrong kind of singer
Ace Of Base: The Worst from Sweden
Now, please explain to me why they aren't on this list.
