what is the most overrated "indie" band of the

clap your hands and say yeah.
Bloc Rebel Arctic Cuties
Fiery Furnaces
most of them
Yeah really way to many to mention. So fare this decade I've pretty much discovered that I hate most new music,
without a doubt the arctic monkeys
the strokes.
I miss Elliott Smith. In the grand scheme of things, I just don't find that a lot of these bands have mastered playing their instruments well. Maybe too many rely on computers or Pro-Tools to write songs. When I heard Bright Eyes compared to Elliott Smith I bought one of his CDs and there wasn't even a comparison there. Elliott's mid-to-later work may rip off the Beatles (George Harrison esp.) but it's still genius.

amen.
The thing about that infamous CYHSY review is a good chuck of it is the author blathering on about how this band got so much attention for their self released CD, without press releases, PR, etc… How is so "refreshing" to a hear a band with out the preceeding hype build up. Not really sure how that garners them a 9.0 as there a plenty of bands out there with remarkable albums without PR folks… You might as well call CYHSY the O.A.R. of indie rock

Their cover of Jethro Tull's "Too Old to Rock and Roll, Too Young to Die" was a brilliant stripped down version with their own signature to it.

Hell yes. Many pull from Elliott, but not too many realize it.

I would have voted Clap Yer Paws too.
no questions.

arctic monkeys.
I bet if you polled the general population, less than 2% would have heard of either Clap Your Hands And Say Yeah or the Arctic Monkeys.
