Best show you've ever seen at the 9:30 club

As a patron: Johnny Cash, Bob Dylan,Chili Peppers

As an employee: Rage, Social Distortion, Hank Williams III
Old club… Scream reunion, circa 1992 ish (?).
sleater-kinney last year was my first show at the 930 club and has a special place in my heart as i have been a fan for years, but never got to see them because they always skip pittsburgh.
Gack, there are so many. I agree though as WUST it was Stone Roses. That is one of my 10 all time fav shows, and they moved it there after Ian freaked that there were seats at Georgetown University (talked to the electrician there years back).

Old Club:
Husker Du (Bob just stared at the camera girl all night)
Jane's Addiction (those guys are short!)
Butthole Surfers (Was there for their 2 night stint)
Robyn Hitchcock solo
Devo
The Orb (with live drummer and bassist)

New Club:
Sigur Ros (2003)
Gomez (2002?)
Chemical Brothers (best light show and insane sound)
Sex Pistols (I had always felt I missed something and I was right)

There are more, but I have seen too many to keep track of them.
A few that come to mind:
Radiohead ok computer tour - 2nd date with my then-future wife
Nick Cave - 97 or 98
Iggy Pop - my wife was like 8 1/2 months pregnant and she had a blast
Damned/Scream at the old club in 85 or 86
Bad Brains at the old club
Spiritualized - Ladies and Gentleman tour
Any Flaming Lips show at the new club
Afghan Whigs in like 97 or 98
I didn't Prince when he played the new club, but I hear comments from time to time from people who really enjoyed that show.
So many good shows……. But they are all a blur for me now.

I guess the two Joe Strummer and Robbie Williams shows both stood out.

But not to bring negativity, but 2 people brought up fatboy slim. I thought that was the biggest waste of $40 ever. Why did you enjoy it so? The chemical brothers and basement Jaxx really showed how that kind of show should be done, all for half the ticket price.

Actually those two were great memorable shows.

1/2 the Basement Jaxx show was great, the half with the diva-like singers sucked.

Fatboy was one I liked, but not top because that is what I expected it to be. He is a DJ, so that is what I expected (Though it was more with DJ in the round and the video screen). I think with your different expectations (looking for a band) you got hosed. Just remember the telephone call at the start of Rockefeller Skank.

Well I liked the diva like singaz most of all, well their crazy outfits.

I dont remember the phonecall. I think I have tried to block out fatboy slim. Are the chemical brothers not DJs?

Please, don't bring up that show…it's taken me a couple of years of therapy to get over that $40 pile of dog-poo.

Honourable mentions on my 930 Hall of fame.

Shane MacGowan
Beautiful South
Echo & the Bunnymen
Morrissey
Billy Bragg before Wilco ruined him
Belle & Sebastian last night…yep, that good!
I have to add:

Superdrag (the night that gbv cancelled)

I am really bummed I didn't boot that show. It was great.
Definitely Sigur Ros second show this year. I was also pleasantly surprised with Polyphonic Spree this year and Cornelius last year. I guess I had come in thinking that I would not be impressed but was blown away.
oh, i totally forgot:

Aphex Twin
Death In Vegas
Sneaker Pimps 98 i think

Are you the Skeeter from Scream?
I don't see that many shows at the 9:30 Club, but the best had to be:

JC
Steve Earle on his first electric tour after getting out of jail
Wilco on their first tour (old club)
Wilco with Old 97's supporting
