to defend the defenseless. . .wouldn't you agree that the murderer made the choice to kill? whereas the unborn fetus has no choice?

the basic point is this: you and i make choices everyday. . some people decide that they want to kill someone, and that's illegal, and prosecuted under the laws of that state. people have the choice to commit suicide, etc. as for the fetus, without making a judgement on whether or not that's a "life," the point there is that the fetus can't make a choice.

Nope, I don't think people should be killed for their choices. There are PLENTY of punishments available, probably many that are worse. I've never been too keen on punishing via the very crime that is being punished.

Suicide is illegal, by the way. Maybe we should kill those who attempt it.

With regards to the earlier thread: Abortion: Let's think about this: For every abortion, there's a penis involved. Very few in vitro mommies go to abortion clinics…any disagreement there, venerable Board? So, if the penii's (what is the plural of penis?) became MORE involved/responsible/interested in this abortion issue and perhaps more participatory in the results of the - ahem - pregnancy - what then? ahhh, a post that could even upset mankie. father's rights, i don't think any men on here would have a problem with a say in the decision. the problem is that for each woman that discusses the situation with their boyfriend/husband, there's another that believes it's her's and only her decision. i congratulate you that you would want the man to take charge in the relationship and tell you what to do.

also, i believe that tax credits have indeed increased for parents that adopt children, and, not to mention, parents that keep children. and you're right, educating teenagers is an excellent step toward unwanted pregnancies, but so is spending money on teaching parents the value of family and being a parent. education starts at home, and you can't expect school to do it for them. . .
