I hear tell Keith Moon's refrigerator will be there. Don't miss it.

What I don't understand, as someone posted earlier, how people can bitch about the price of this, but be fine with $50 for Belle and Sebastian?!?

Because, let's face it, the company is better. It's like the difference between going to a nice restaurant and McDonalds. I don't know which is worse, hanging out at a race track with useless, balding (but still rocking the ponytail!) baby boomers hoping to "rock out" with The Who or drunken, moron frat boys wanting to see RHCP do "some crazy shit." I wouldn't be caught dead hanging out with SIX of either of those types of fans, let alone 60,000.

Brian
you like the snotty nerds in ugly shoes and catchy t-shirt belle and sebastian crowds, more?

yeah, they are much smarter.
It makes you just as big of an asshole to stereotype Belle & Sebastian fans, so both of you should shut your yappers.
Haha! A 16 year old girl is the voice of reason between to adult males.

I love the internet.

i only said that to prove a point. thanks for being so quick on it though ;)

besides, most of my friends fall into the ugly shoe category, i imagine Brian Wallace has no frat boy friends, and probably never has.

and i was just at a B&S show two weeks ago, and saw the majority of the people there walk past me.
i imagined my stereotype to be MUCH more on target than his.

and lastly, i wont shut my yapper. i will not succomb to the negativity from you people on this event….i wont do it.

#1 It still doesn't make you right. Stooping down to his level to prove your point against him just makes your argument flawed. There are plenty of people with very cute shoes that enjoy Belle & Sebastian, and there are plenty of perfectly-well educated young people that enjoy the Red Hot Chili Peppers. So just calm down.

Belle and Sebastian fans typically wear NIKE basketball shoes?

Belle and Sebastian fans typically wear whatever the fuck they want because they are, like, totally, maybe, kind of, actually human beings.

you make as little sense as me. my "argument" was exactly what you wrote after writing that my argument was flawed, i just went around the bend by making it, cause i am a smartass.

though, i didnt see many cute shoes at Merriweather.

I'm kinda bummed. This old fart has tix to see Roger Waters already, on the very same night as the V Fest. Ah well, there's always next year ….
I second that. Oh, well…I guess I'll have to settle for the VFest in Toronto instead. It's on Olympic Island (no cars = no car jackings) and while they're not getting RHCP or The Who, they are getting Sam Roberts, The Dears, Hidden Cameras, and K'Naan. Seems like a fair trade in my books :)
Do you get it? The point I'm trying to make is that yeah, there are different types of people into different stuff everywhere. You shouldn't just lump people together like that. Nobody should.

Whoa there!!! I agree with you for the most part, but I think its perfectly fair to say that all Phish fans are filthy hippies. Its a simple and scientific fact. But nice try.
I bet you won't find many Belle and Sebastian fans in poor white rural areas or inner city black neighborhoods.

no no, you're way off on that one … there are TONS of belle & sebastian fans in inner city black neighborhoods, what do you think all the white gentrifiers listen to!?
i highly doubt that. they sold out nearly every date on their us tour last year, including 3 back to back nights at the 930 club. and if i'm not mistaken, sold out every night of their european tour last year as well.

Last time, they were in Baltimore, there was maybe 150 people there.
*giggling*

furthermore, as gay white men are typically the first of the "urban pioneers" to move into aforementioned neighborhoods, and according to someone (don't remember who) who posts on here, b&s have a significant following the gay community, then you are indeed, spot on hoya!

so i'm sitting here debating whether or not to go to this festival. i don't think $100 is a lot of money for an all day festival at all. i was expecting at least $75. and even better, you can buy at the 930 and avoid the stupid fees!

regardless of whether i choose to attend or not, i hope they get a good turn out. hell, if it does sell out (though i don't think it will), i'll be thrilled for seth.

we've been bitching for years that all the good music festivals are in europe, and all we get stateside is coachella to their multiple festivals. so you know what, hats off to seth for putting this together and bringing it to a city nearby.

this is the inagural attempt so obviously there are going to be some bumps and a few glitches. but who the fuck cares, that's expected! we have a music festival, FINALLY! and it ain't crappy hfstival! and a festival, that i'm sure one, if continued in 2007, that seth will defintely look to his boardies for suggestions to make it even more successful. (ie, band suggestions, of which, i second robbie williams!). future v festivals have the potential to be as rockin' stateside as they are in england.
