For those lamenting the fact that a DC area Massive Attack show is unlikely, especially at V fest, there are other opportunities to see them (some more attractive than others) including this labor day weekend festival, a little more work than trudging out to Pimlico but I dare say worth the trouble.

dcist just posted some more on v-fest, and says they have reasons to believe Arctic Monkeys and Theivery Corporation will be there along already mentioned bands: RHCP, CYHSY, Gnarls Barkley, The Who, The Raconteurs, and The Flaming Lips.

my "sources" told me that Metallica may be playing the v-fest at baltimore…or at least, they were trying to get Metallica on the bill…and the fest was going to be a 3 day event, but was downsized to one. Wolfmother was also mentioned.

i think thievery corporation is a given. i just hope this doesn't mean that they won't do a regular club date this summer at the 930.

Very nice… Thievery DJ set here:
http://www.campbiscov.com/ and hopefully a live set in baltimore less than a month later. You'd think they'd play more than just Chicago and on the west coast live in order to promote that new album.

From Billboard.com…
A U.S. edition of the festival will be held Sept. 23 at the Pimlico Race Course in Baltimore, home of the Preakness Stakes. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will anchor the lineup, which will be announced in full on July 10.
