Virgin Mobile Fest Baltimore 2009 date set?

Blur would be amazing.  I still think if this thing's at Merriweather, the headliners won't be bigger than Blink/Weezer.  Neil Young, Metallica and co could easily sell out MPP on their own, so the likelihood of them playing a small festival there is low.

Blur however, could be a decent choice.  This isn't the UK, after all, so Blur isn't exactly the biggest deal in the world, but it could still be big enough to be a Merriweather show on tis own.

If they do end up playing, I'd strongly lean towards going.
Shellac
Jesus Lizard
Magik Markers
Eat Skull
Kurt Vile
Psychedelic Horseshit
Super Furry Animals.  Obvs.

I cannot even articulate how much I would LOVE to see SFA to play in the US soon.

But they're booked for a few festivals in the UK around August, so if Vfest is the weekend of August 30th, it wouldn't be possible.

And I'd much rather see them headline at the 930 than play a festival slot at Merriweather/wherever.
I wonder what the lineup is going to be….

Are they going to have A-list bands there? or just others?

Whens the official announcement because we all knew that Vfest was already going to happen, make the next move!!!

If weezer/blink 182 ever do headline (IF) the vfest, then I will be heavily disappointed.
Seth does owe us a Jesus Lizard show…

(Moved to the other, more appropriate thread.)
I'm pretty sure TJL will be touring clubs in the fall. Would be surprised/sorely disappointed if there isn't at least one 930 date.

But a taste of that at V-Fest would be nice.

Rooting against MBV for V-Fest for a change; I've heard/read that the impact of the show is decreased significantly in an outdoor setting.
It kinda is. Their set at Coachella was loud, but not as loud as it could have been. I didn't need earplugs and really loved it.

I would much rather them come to 9:30. I don't think I'd be able to comprehend the awesomeness of it.

I checked their tour schedule, they look fairly available.

You are kidding me, right?  They don't even leave IL.  Why would they come to Baltimore?

Same reason they came out of hiatus and played furnacefest a few years back.. in Alabama of all places:  Money.
wishlist:

Gogol Bordello
Arctic MOnkeys
YYYs
Animal Collective
MGMT
Wolfmother?

everything I liked in 2007. And some other.

I would go see that. OLP, Sonic Youth, Jarvis Cocker, k-os, Mute Math, Gomez, and Future Of The Left are all fine by me.

Their biggest American hit was Somewhere Out There in 2002. They followed it up with Innocent, which was also pretty big. To be fair, their US popularity did trail off with the stinker of an album they put out after that and their inactivity.
That doesn't seem like too bad of a lineup, actually.

I'd consider Vfest if Jarvis was there.  Sonic Youth is out, with the 930 shows and all, but Jarvis?
