Big clue that there is something fishy about a site offering downloads if there is a disclaimer about deleting tracks upon request of the copyright holder

lol.  where did you see this?

i realize it's been over 24 Hours since you asked, but unlike other AMERICAN, I'm pretty H@RDCORE about copyrights

to be clear, i wasn't laughing at you, i was laughing at any website that would post such a disclaimer.  ridiculous.  really, why bother?  do they think that will give them any sort of legal defense when they get busted?  (it won't).

yes, your adherence to copyright is well documented.  so i repeat my question: which cracker-jack website offered such a "warning"?  if you don't wanna advertise the site, you could be generic - "a blog i came across", "a russian-operated MP3 store", etc.  just curious.
Well I did give some CLUES as to how to find the site and it's pretty legit site setup to promote a recently published book on the American Hardcore Punk scene.  It's being pointed to by various blogs…
d'oh.  nevermind.
free mixtape from "10 Best Albums You Might Have Missed This Year"
http://www.spin.com/articles/10-best-albums-you-might-have-missed-year

out of the 10 band on the mixtape i had only ever heard of two of them, and headn't heard the music of any (as far as i know).  worthwhile listen if you're looking to discover some new artists.
I won a vinyl copy of Dr.Dog's "Shame, Shame", but I already have an mp3 copy.

If you want the extra digital download I have, post in this thread. I will PM who ever posts first with the code.

yup, i posted that.  i saw phish twice in the past 2 years, and enjoyed both shows.  they weren't life-changing or mind-blowing experiences - but i had a good time.

i lived 2 years in princeton and would have killed for something this cool to come through.  there were a few ok acts that played but i always seemed to miss them.  i did catch akron/family at an "alternative frat-house".  they were horrible.  the show was free, they had free beer, but i would have been better off staying at home that night and stabbing #2's into my ears.

get over downloading already.  it's free, it's being distributed with the artist's permission, and it's a high-quality recording.  enjoy the gift already :)

merry christmas from the cartoon band

from www.yeasayer.net:

Hello Everyone!

We hope this message finds you well and that 2010 has brought you it's best.  It has been an amazing year for us and we owe a lot to you, our fans and supporters, for all the successes and the ability to do what we love.

In thanks, we have decided to release a live show that was recorded at Ancienne Belgique in Brussels on October 28th, 2010.  We didn't want to put a value on the live album, so it's up to you to decide what works best for you.  This is being offered to you first before any viral spread, so please go here to download:  http://yeasayer.net/xmas/

Again, this doesn't happen without you and we are forever grateful.  Thank you for allowing us to move forward to 2011 with more ideas and tunes to share.

Peace and Happy Holidays.

free klaxons

so, since it is the new norm for bands to give stuff, sometimes even whole albums, away for free, what is     next . . . them paying us to listen to their music?  maybe free sex.  free bags of groceries.  how about jobs as roadies if you'll just give them a chance.
Probably an entire free tour. What band did the show for 1$ tickets at 930 a few years back? They should do that again.

Any who, here's a podcast recorded for us by TITTSWORTH! It was recorded live at Uhall! The free download still isn't up but you can stream it! I'll post the link once the download goes up, but give it a listen and dannnccee!
