seriously a perfect olympics. crosby is the hero, usa gets the silver, finns get the bronze, russia gets embarrassed and directv sponsors a commercial free third period

it's looking like the ratings for the gold medal games were huge, as one might expect.  no official numbers yet, but so far i've found this and this. 

i'm betting that most of these people watched.

So I thought the opening ceremony was pretty lame, except for the fact that the first song they played during the "40 years of British rock'n roll" segment was Going Underground by The Jam.

The Olympics are less than they used to be since they started allowing professional athletes.  Had much more meaning before and was a lot more fun to watch.
