2012 albums

maybe i haven't scoured the web hard enough . . . but is big freedia releasing an actual "album" and not some weird mixtape/edit ep/housetracks, in 2012?
I think I'd rather listen to a Thomas Kinkade painting.

Not buying it until I am actually listening. Same goes for the remasters.

Throwing the Spiritualized on momentarily.

Jacober is the solo project of a busy Baltimore soul - a force that drums for Dope Body (Drag City) and the Dan Deacon ensemble (Domino), and also makes up half of Holy Ghost Party (GenPop).

Water Karaoke is Jacober's first collection of weird pop music, an introspective adventure through the things you tend to fascinate over when you're not moving at full speed. The album features recordings from the past three years that Jacober has been working on with some help from Dan Frome. It was mastered by Matt Schulman, and comes packaged with art by Beth Hoeckel and layout by Chris Day.

Does anyone else think the production value on this is crap?
It's like Spaceman is trying to set the new bar in the "loudness war" or something.

Sweetcell, I would categorize this group as electronic shoegaze. You should definitely check them out.

The Funk Ark - High Noon

Really enjoyed their debut album, but this is one is even better.  Tighter and more on point and I will be spending a lot of time with this one.

Rodrigo Y Gabriela w/ C.U.B.A - Area 52.

Loving this…. not sure how long ago it came out, but they got added to the Bonnaroo lineup so I started listening and I'm a big fan.
