2012 albums

'90s era New Zealand indie rockers
Bailterspace
will release Strobosphere on August 21 via Fire Records, their first new album in 13 years. Led by Alister Parker, the group were an outgrowth of '80s
noisemongers The Gordons and made seven albums from 1987 - 1999, many of which were on Matador Records in America. (Flying Nun in NZ of course.) The band,
which never really stopped working together, always managed a balance between fury, drone and the beautiful.

Bailterspace lean toward the latter two descriptors on "No Sense," the first released track from Strobosphere which you can download above and stream below.
The band
toured the U.S. in 2008,
so hopefully with a new record we'll get more live shows as well. We shall see.

Is it just me or does the name "Ty Segall" sound more like a smoove jazz wanker than a punk? Maybe that's the point.
Oh hell yeah

you beat me by two minutes.  :)
This was really boring.

It's technically very good but lacks any of the raw emotion that makes J shredding such a pleasure to hear.

j should have been doing stuff like this years ago . . . instead of getting the two losers back together and touring while only playing the worst albums.
Have you listened to it?

It's wankerrific. It reminds me of Buckethead.

New Dinosaur will come out and make everything right, though. I can't fault him for wanting to get the masturbation out of his system.
Ringo Deathstarr
"Mauve"

To be released on September 24th.
I know griping about Pitchfork is very 2005 but Lorelei are not a fucking emo band.
They are just not. There is nothing emo about Everyone Must Touch the Stove.

Looking forward to hearing Enterprising Sidewalks though.
Animal Collective Centipede HZ stream starting. radio.myanimalhome.net

Well not yet. They are playing old Pink Floyd.
Animal Collective may have fallen off a little bit since Feels but Brian's taste is still impeccable. Case in point this DJ set.
I've only listened to it twice but the new xx album just might end up my favorite of the year. I love it.

Between this, Capsule, Chromatics, Grimes and Black Moth, this has been quite the excellent year of singing chicks. Makes me feel all feminist like.
