Meanwhile, in Canada...
Ahhhh…Canada…it relaxes me just to say it
700 physicians, general practitioners, specialists, residents and medical students in Quebec signed a petition.
Quebec alone has 10,000 doctors.
Overstate much?

we needed a Canada thread…so thanks for starting
wish I had some blame canada dig for my comment…but now that there is a thread, I know where to put it

The funny thing is there should be no Canada…if George Washington had been a half decent strategist we would have taken it over at the very beginning of the War for Independence…but it probably - I suppose - could be argued Canada has been a blessing…it’s mellow reasoned existence a nice counterweight to the US…Canada is to the US as Uruguay is to Argentina…an arguably fortunate historical accident

pffff… this is a thinly-veiled variation of anne coulter's "canada should be happy that the US lets it exist"…
by the same token, the US is lucky that the british (future canandians) let the US continue to be, given the complete and thorough sacking they put on Washington DC. had they continued their campaign instead of retreating once their point was made, they would have caused the US to collapse.
so maybe we should just call it even ;D

A quick search will indicate we've had plenty, nearly all started by the same person, most die just after one page (save for the hockey thread).

Even then, what does hockey *really* have to do with Canada. Most NHL teams are in the USA, and most Olympic hockey teams aren't in Canada.
Canada thread backlash

same line of thinking: what does baseball *really* have to do with the US? Most professional baseball teams aren't in the US.

i want you to re-read that very carefully, then think about it.

Is that really Canada?
First off, not a mountie.
Second, why would a Canadian cop be wearing a bulletproof vest with all the wonderful Canadian gun policies you tout?
Smackie calls BS. I immediately call for you to extend your visit to SF so that we can see the new Super Troopers together.

correct, looks like an OPP officer. mounties are national, and in many remote locations (AKA most of the country) the only police force, but there are provincial and municipal police forces as well.

for protection from stray americans.

i would LOVE to, but i'd need to extend my visit by 3 or 4 days… movie opens on 4/20.

Wait, Canadians aren't down with OPP? So much so that they need officers? That's not very friendly…

I see - Canadians think every American is a gun-toting jack-ass, much the way 45 thinks every Mexican is a raping murderer. That's not better.

Oh, I'm well aware and I've already worked it out with the Mrs., who BTW, absolutely LOATHES Super Troopers with a passion like it was a bad date with an ex-boyfriend, because it was. And he was a Trooper. Great story, be sure to ask her!
