Gee, thanks for the meats, but I think the largest city in America could do a little better. Anaheim certainly didn't go cheap.
ANAHEIM MAYOR ANNOUNCES FRIENDLY WAGER WITH NEW YORK'S MAYOR BLOOMBERG
ANAHEIM, Calif. - (October 4, 2005) - Continuing the tradition started three years ago when the Anaheim Angels won the World Series, Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle and New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg have agreed to a friendly wager as the New York Yankees and Angels prepare to meet in the American League Division Series today.
"We look forward to a hard-fought series against the American League East Division Champion New York Yankees and congratulate them on their success this season," said Anaheim Mayor Curt Pringle. "But, we're confident that the Angels will benefit from having the Anaheim home field advantage and ultimately prevail against the Yankees as they did in 2002."
"I hear Anaheim is lovely this time of year, but is there anything better than October baseball at Yankee Stadium?" said Mayor Bloomberg.
"This year's team is like all the great Yankee teams - they never quit.
But if, on account of some fluke, or owing to some fallen angel, Anaheim comes out on top, I will send some of New York's best to the people of Anaheim, including two dozen hot dogs from Nathan's Famous, two pounds each of pastrami, corned beef and brisket, three loaves of jumbo seedless rye bread and two pounds of mustard from Katz's Deli, and two Pizza alla Vodka pies from Goodfella's Brick Oven Pizza and Pasta. And for dessert, one 2.5 gallon container of Lemon Ice from the Lemon Ice King of Corona and plenty of Dominican cake from Parrilla Latina."
If the Angels are unsuccessful in advancing in the playoffs, Mayor Pringle will offer Mayor Bloomberg items that reflect the true spirit of Anaheim and Orange County.
* A crate of Anaheim chile peppers
* A crate of Sunkist California oranges
* Merchandise from Disneyland's 50th Anniversary, including a pair of golden Mickey Mouse ears
* An autographed script from Fox Broadcasting Co.'s hit show "The OC"
* A surfboard from Huntington Beach-based Jack's Surfboards
* A Halo Hybrid Utility Club from Cleveland Golf in Huntington Beach
* $50 in gift certificates from Anaheim-based Pacific Sunwear
* Surf apparel from Newport Beach-based Toes on the Nose
* Sunglasses from San Juan Capistrano-based Hoven Sunglasses
* Swimwear from Newport Beach-based Tyler Rose Swimwear
* A gift basket from Orange County-based Diedrich's Coffee
* A case of boysenberry jam and a bucket of Mrs. Knott's chicken from Knott's Berry Farm
Games One and Two of the series will be played at Angel Stadium of Anaheim, Game Three will be played at Yankee Stadium in New York. Game Four, if necessary, will also be in New York, with the teams returning to Anaheim for Game Five, if necessary.

Well Smackie I guess the Anaheim mayor is just a little more confident. I'm surprised he didn't promise a case of potato chips.

**Edit** I wrote the Red Sox on the board and bet the White Sox. That was a great cost saving mistake. And with the Steelers winning last night I made some good money in the past week.

My favorite baseball team has been, and always will be, whoever is playing the Yankees that day. Jeter and A-Rod can go back to having gay sex.

Well then you should be accusing the Anaheim Angels and Chicago White Sox of rampant homosexuality since unlike your precious overpaid pieces o' shite, they're still playing.
