Having now watched the entire game over charting the umpires patterns for calling a strike out:

The hand motions seemed to indicate that the third base umpire agreed with him.

i think that FOX will wish they could show "house" – hell, even "prison break" – instead of the ratings bonanza that will be a white sox/astros world series.
i also think that my lack hockey knowledge is starting to become clear.

Why do people prefer the Cubs over the Sox? The Cubs suck.

well, i'm sure robbie fulks will watch.
really, no combination of the four teams was going to get good ratings. chicago's a big market, but how many casual baseball fans can name a single player on the pale hose? el duque is probably their best-known player, just from his time with the yankees. maybe if they go overboard on "this might be the last time you get to watch roger clemens, arguably the greatest pitcher in the history of the game" type stuff, it'll connect with people.

Maybe not. He was supposed to sing the Anthem at a Sox game earlier in the year, but then they yanked the offer off the table. Plus, he lives on the North Side. ;)

At least I got some under the radar/draft steals in Datsyuk, Savaard, and Kvasha and my makeshift defense line is coming thru (McCabe and then, who?)

and its not your lack of hockey knowledge, its the fact that you are now playing fantasy hockey with a Canadian and a guy from Michigan…really makes it tougher.
the leauge i have with my family in Canada has the same point structure, and i am in 5th place with 945.50 , a whopping 179 off the pace!!!!
wow. . .a little ol' californian like myself must not be doing too bad being in 4th.

Keep in mind, the strength of the White Sox rotation is certainly not in their bullpen. Minus the amazing El Duque performance against the Red Sox, their bullpen has never been outstanding.

go to the bar. leave bar with psu up with 51 seconds to go
go to pen/lightning. had the dream seats, get dvd. find out psu ended up losing. then the pens lose
steelers lose
drive home

and yes, you can change all your players daily, but you were doing a good job with that anyway.
and about baseball…..i was thinking about how the announcers were juicing over Guillen and co. FAR FAR too much during the Sox/Sox series. granted not much was happening to talk good about the Red Sox, but they were REALLY REALLY in love with Guillen. it was sorta nauseating…like the way John Madden talks about Brett Favre.
