Why do dudes wear crew neck t-shirts under polo shirts?

You mean, like this: <img src="http://www.urbanoutfitters.com/images/us/local/products/productsall/p114588b.jpg" alt=" - " />

'Cos urban outfitters thinks it is cool?

I really hate polo shirts, adorned by other t's, collar up or collar down there is always something suspiciously camp about them.

Why?
With what are you staining yourself?

i wear them because they prevent stainage under my dress shirt. though my polos don't seem to retain stainage, so i don't wear them under polos.
i'm with markie on this one… i've never understood the white tshirt under a polo look and now the colored t-shirt looked is carrying it way to far…

i don't know, but i'm disturbed about the trend i've been seeing in georgetown with the kids wearing two polo shirts, each with the collar flipped up.
Ambercrombie and Fitch.

Required dress to work there I might add.
All this collar up/collar down discussion reminds me of my wife and her sister….my sister in law has a three year old son, who she dresses with all the brand names. Anyway, she always puts the collars up on his little polo's, which I think is silly (on anyone) but it bugs my wife to no end, so she would put his little collar down, then her sister would notice and put it back up, then she'd leave the room and my wife would put it back down again. This goes on for the whole day and the little tyke thinks it's the funniest game.

That place is classic. Unless you have the body of an asian (male or female) nothing fits.

And all those good looking employees???? Ever tried to get help from them? Talk about lights on but nobody's home!!!!!!

Remember Monica's dress????

Okay, three responses in a row, I'll back off now.
well i think the fact i had to look up what exactly crew neck means, shows that I don't care much about fashion

the polo shirt over a white undershirt is not about a look for me, it is just what I wear

they do 36 inch waist jeans….. If you cannot get into them, you are clearly not of the right image to wear them. It makes perfect sense.
So, would you call that the pollard look?

No this is the pollarded look:

Pollarding is useful and, to some, pretty
Regarding collars, I found this pretty amusing:

Actually, 36" are a little big on me, 34"s still a little snug, and I've never seen anything larger than a 34 in there, not that I go in often.

I was confused about this "staining" thing, having never had sweat stains myself…then markie cleared it all up for me (pun intended) because that's my brand of smellies!
