Isn't this a fashion faux-pas? Does anybody think this looks good?
Why do dudes wear crew neck t-shirts under polo shirts?
(looking down to see what I'm wearing today…)
uh-oh.
uh-oh.
I'd say they do it because they're idiots…but that's just my guess.
Better yet, why do dudes and dudettes flip up the collar of their polo shirts? What is this, 1985? Seriously, everybody in Bethesda and Chevy Chase is sporting that shit lately, and I have to look at it on my ride home. Bogus.

technically, you should not wear a crew neck tshirt unless you are buttoning the top button of any shirt. personally, i don't care, but i do not wear undershirts with polo shirts.

i don't care if they wear a crewneck. anything that covers up ambient chest hair sounds like a good idea to me.
I'm twinky as hell.

I do like your choice of words in your description of "ambient" chest hair.)

As for the collar being up, it's for the "hosses," bro. It's the preppy version of a tattoo, I suppose. It makes them feel sloppy and rebellious. You gotta feel cool while you're singing along to Dave Matthews.

As for the collar being up…I blame VH1's "I Love The 80's" for this.

i don't know, but i'm disturbed about the trend i've been seeing in georgetown with the kids wearing two polo shirts, each with the collar flipped up.

Marketing is all about making you "need" something that you don't. Ergo, cell phones.
Yes, I grasp the layered clothing look. But I was specifically talking about the dudes that wear WHITE (forgot to mention that before) crew neck t-shirts underneath their polo shirt, leaving the polo shirt unbuttoned to show off the shiny undershirt.

who the fuck cares? glad to know I am not fashionable in Rhett's eyes
Mine are shiny when i first take them out of the package. Hanes is usually my brand of choice.
i wear them because they prevent stainage under my dress shirt. though my polos don't seem to retain stainage, so i don't wear them under polos.
i used to wear just the t-shirt with Levis, ala James Dean, until I got too fat to pull off that look.
But i prefer v-neck style, it shows off my manly chest hair…
