Why do dudes wear crew neck t-shirts under polo shirts?

While we're on the topic of fashion, when did it become acceptable for women to wear sleeveless shirts in the workplace? This is not professional.

Not that I'm complaining. So many beautiful armpits…a guy can't help but occasionally look, right?…

But then again, I have beautiful armpits, and I manage to wear shirts with sleeves on them to work.
My thought is that women are allowed to because they typically shave their underarms, same with legs, which is why women can wear skirts w/o hose but men don't usually wear shorts to the office. And generally the showing of private body hair like pit and leg hair is really not appropriate for the office.

I just get away with both, even though I don't shave because I think nobody in my small office cares or notices and my leg hair is light and I don't go running around high-fiving people on days that I'm wearing sleeveless shirts. I still think hair is kind of private and am a little shy about everyone seeing it.
I don't high five anybody when i wear a sleeveless shit either…

You beat me to it……I don't think I've laughed out loud at work quite as loud as when I read that the first time. Thanks Celeste :D
everyone wears shorts to my office. i don't often, mostly because my legs get cold

Is it me getting sweatier,, or does it become less effective if you use it all the time?

Why would you want A&F clothing?
I don't really want A$F stuff, but I can't pass up a "clearance rack" in any store….that being said A$F clearance prices are the prices they should be normally….feckin thieves that they are.

Oh, Mitchums still works fine for me, you must be getting smellier in your old age. I bet you smell like a combo of mothballs and sour milk like all old men do.
Yep, that's pretty much how I shop as well for clothes.

the problem with razzing someone for typos is that they can go back and correct them, taking the steam out of the joke a bit :p
Me too, but I still wouldn't go into an A&F store…unless I was trying to pick up a 22 year old "boy" along with my clearance purchase.

Usually, edit privilages get timed out after a bit. I guess you caught your mistake early.

I guess you've read the rules of Forum Posting Etiquette?
Sorry fella's, but you're all failing your Metrosexual tests. Didn't any of you have sisters?

I wear dress shirts everyday, and an undershirt is a must, especially with the white dressshirt.

I prefer the whitest of all whitetrash, the wife-Beater, for comfort sake. Sleaved undershirts bunch up around the sleeves throughout the day.

V-neck undershirts look inappropriate with anything besides a v-neck overshirt or polo shirt. And yes, the original post is correct, Crew-neck with polo-shirts is wrong. It must be a v-neck or a beater.

Two polo shirts is very east coast preppy and it wish it would have stayed there with boat shoes, but people move. Damn it. Two polo shirts is just wrong.

How about V-Neck sweaters with crew neck t-shirts?
The t-shirt has to be of a higher grade, ribbed or something of that stock with a smaller neck collar than your standard t-shirt.

I never do that look, but then again, I don't wear sweaters much.
Wearing a t-shirt under a dress shirt is like wearing white socks with loafers. It's just wrong.

uh-oh, I agree with GGW on something.

Now my whole day is eff'd up.

BTW…Why do some blokes have their initials embroidered on the cuffs of their dress shirts? That's just wrong too.
What's wrong is pit stains on a dress shirt. how do you propose preventing that?

Learn to perspire less.

And seeing people's back and chest hair through the shirt, not to mention nipple regions.

If people paid attention to thread count, I would agree with you, GGW, but since most people don't, under shirts for white (and light colored) dress shirts have become a must.

And nothing absorbs sweat quite like a dress shirt. Even light sweat shows up on colored dress shirt very badly.

And don't get me started on dress shirts and no tie, with no undershirt. Absolutely wrong!
Because they believe that showing that they could afford the extra $6.00 monogramming fee will exhibit their wealth. It's a nouveau-riche thing.

We can't all put a coat of arms on our crest, now can we?
Point taken. But rather than spending the money on the t-shirts, they should just buy a dress shirt that is opaque enough to cover their hairy torsos.

My personal favorite was the intern we had a few summers ago who would wear his white dress shirt with his Coed Naked Whatever shirt underneath.
