you'd think that announcing the line-up sooner rather than later would be in the festival's best interests… people need to plan, and often it's a choice of one festival over another. people that have gone ahead and committed to lolla or APW will be less likely to sign up for VFest.
for people who like STP and NIN and FOO, most of them are probably just going or not.
the last few lineups drive at more commercial rock , the "Festivalites" are less of the priority it seems. which isnt a bad thing considering how damn picky we are!
its easier and more profitable to appeal to a broader market. and that market isnt picking between festivals i wouldnt think.
