Can anybody guess the two albums out of that list that I actually give the thumbs up to (I've heard at least a little bit of nearly all of them)? Sorry, no prizes involved. Maybe I could bring the winner back a rock or a chunk of dirt from Seattle.
Albums in 2005
You are correct. Had thoughts of buying their first but never did.

Stars is one of them. The girl is ugly, but she's a good singer. What I've heard of the second album didn't blow me away as much as the first, but has convinced me that I will pick up a used copy when I come across one.

stars and sigur ros?
The thought of Rhett listening to Sigur Ros blows my world. Blows!
You and god's shoeshine will be sharing a genuine Seattle rock. What I've heard I have liked from that band. Not sure why, just have.

I do wonder if the album is too much of the same sound? Fico, do all the songs sound like the three on the web site? Here's a link if anyone else wants to weigh in.

One album that I am really looking forward to is the new Nada Surf on 9/20. Though I'm prepared to be disappointed in comparison to their last album.
Originally posted by kurosawa-b/w:I didn't check the link but I think the album is solid as a whole and quite pleasant…the singer reminds me a lot of Tim Booth from James…catchy pop songs well played, I believe the bassist from the Vines plays with them..there's a session from them at www.kexp.org

Since I know you love pre-release song titles too, the first single "King Of The Mountain" precedes the album on October 24th. And the US release is Nov. 8.

Thanks for the info. I wasn't a big Red Shoes fan, but Hounds of Love is one of the best albums of all time, in my book.
Anybody check out the new Our Lady Peace? It's not quite their old stuff, but seems to beat the hell out of Gravity.
