Cool!

Anyone know when or if the most recent Charlatans UK album ("Up at the Lake") will be released in the US? I'm a fan, but I don't really feel like paying $29 for the UK import…
not sure if they even have a US deal - pm me and I'll burn you a copy

or try amazon.co.uk

Oh great, hopefully it'll be as good and innovative as the new Fatboy Slim.

Terry Bickers is back with them, I really don't think this will suck. I'm very excited about the reunion and think they will be great. I hope they tour!
I'm completely in your camp on this one. Haven't been able to wait to hear this since I first heard about it awhile ago!

Other new releases that I've been looking forward to besides House Of Love:

Trespassers William
Experimental Aircraft
Monster Movie (EP with Rachel Staggs from Experimental Aircraft on vocals)
I Am Kloot (O'MANKIE ALERT!!!!)
Ulrich Schnauss (Remixes, especially Rachel Goswell's "Coastline")
The High Dials
Phaser
Readymade
The Wrens
Doves (except I'm fearing this one because I don't like the new single)
Paik
Hinterland
Sennen
Televise
Add to my list…
(I think they are working on full albums. At least, I sure hope so!)

Sleepless
Lyca Sleep
The High Violets (they are definitely working on one)

And last but not least, I can finally share this with others as I had been sworn to secrecy about this one. A friend of mine is compiling an album of Shoegaze remakes by current Shoegaze bands. Some of the artists who will be contributing are The Workhouse, Sennen, DestroyAllDreamers, Ulrich Schnauss, Windermere, Epic 45, Daydream Nation, Amusement Parks On Fire, Britta Phillips, LKWRM, Asobi Seksu, Loveliescrushing , Air Formation, Ladytron, Astrobrite, Douglas Heart (the band, not the man), Televise, Pia Fraus and The Radio Dept. among many others. I have most of the track listings but won't bother with them now. This should be a very good release and the NME has already promised him a spot. (Hope they are kind to him and the artists.)

*Kurosawa and PseudoScouse, this was the project that I told you was in the works but wasn't allowed to tell you anything about at the time.
New Order "Waiting for a Sirens Call" due in March/April.

Also looking forward to Chem. Brothers, Doves, and the U.S. release of Annie "Anniemal"

please never mention those 2 artists in the same breath again.

I listened to "Palookaville" in its entirety for the first time yesterday.
I wanted to cry. its just awful and i hope it took him no longer than 1 hour to make. and i am a big fan of electronic music too…..this is SHIT. he should be ashamed of himself.
No mention of a US release for the last record….

THE CHARLATANS SIGN NEW WORLDWIDE RECORDING CONTRACT 06 01 05
We are pleased to announce that the band signed a new multi-album worldwide deal with the Sanctuary Records Group before Christmas.

The actual deal was signed at Salford University after our Christmas lunch on the second day.

We join a contemporary roster that includes Morrissey, The Libertines, The Strokes, Spiritualized, Belle & Sebastian, Gorkys Zygotic Mynki, Babyshambles, Ikara Colt, Lou Reed, British Sea Power, Delays, Detroit Cobras.

The company owns a vast catalogue that includes classic artists such as The Kinks, Damned, Jonathan Richman & Modern Lovers, The Fall, Donovan, Undertones, ELP, Brian Auger, Black Sabbath, Small Faces, Chairman of the Board, The Nice, Sugarhill Gang, Motorhead, Humble Pie, Grandmaster Flash. The group owns the rights to many classic labels including the Immediate, Transatlantic, Trojan and Invictus labels from the 60's. Last year saw the company release the Brian Wilson 'Pet Sounds Live in London'.

The band has already begun the early stages of recording the new album, at various locations across the UK and North America. We expect to release our debut single for the label in the summer with the album later in 2005.
