Snailhook...

Factums?

Another band that put out a great album on Siltbreeze last year.
didn't know big blood was colleen and tim from cerberus shoal. i've booked them twice and am tight with that portland scene (i just had erin davidson of cerberus down here in october), so if they come this way, i'll certainly hook them up.

the factums record is great. the best siltbreeze records since they revamped, IMO, are the sapat and pink reason records.
pink reason for sure

i like the psych horseshit LP too
Yeah Pink Reason is definitely one of my favorites.
Gotta see Eluvium again soon.

Paul Metzger would be nice.

And Lichens.

(wow, what were the chances of me both recognizing and supporting one of azaghal's selections in this thread?!?)
Don't give yourself too much credit… you saw Eluvium open for EITS… That's the only way… :D

not sure if eluvium tours much. i booked him with mono in 2005. i liked him live but it didn't blow me away.

paul metzger will be here next time he tours. i couldn't help him out last fall, which is why we played with him in philly instead. i'm putting out the free folk 2 dvd with metzger on it. he's a genius.

lichens will also be around. i talked to rob lowe and told him i might be booking manuel gottsching of ash ra tempel, and he practically begged to be on that. so if i get gottsching in august, look for lichens to open, though getting gottsching is still a longshot. you never know…
Will Lightning Bolt ever grace dc with their presence again?
im kinda bored with lightning bolt to be honest but i know im in the minority there
Does Dominique Leone play live shows? This new album of his is really cool so far.
isn't that the guy who wrote the best pitchfork reviews for years?
Yeah that's him.
And the album should be totally up your alley, too.
How about Grouper?
I read a few days ago that James Blackshaw will be playing a festival up in Maine sometime in mid september. He'd fit well at Free Folk Phantasmagory if you put one on this year.
i might do one last one in mid-september. i'll contact blackshaw…i totally love him and would like to bring him here. i think he opened for jose gonzalez at the 930 earlier this year, but i'm sure nobody there paid attention.
