all signs are that they're pretty broke…

dean ween can't sell out the ottobar.. ticketss were 20$… how many people go there ? 400…..that's 8000… do the math… you got to get there… you got to pay the other band members something.. you have days you have to practice before you play

i also think its a relative thing… i'm sure dean got used to the fat life.. only play 30 shows a year but they were selling out everywhere..way bigger venues….

as far as aaron..he is working at a school of rock type school in upstate new york.. i would not be surprised if those kids playing with him are his students… he could not sell out the rock and roll hotel….he's playing ramshead annapolis capacity what? 200????? he's sold less than 100 tickets one month from the show .. and they cost $20..probably the lowest priced show you'll see at that venue..

my guess is they blew through their ween years money and are basically both starting from scratch….otherwise you don't sell your guitars! i also bet there are legal issues between them which mean that things like reissues/t shirts/ merch have basically come to a standstill.. the chocodog store is looking rather bare…so much less income on that front….

i have not bought a ticket for aaron because getting up there means having to leave where i live so early that i don't know what i'd do with my kids… its a real beatch getting to that place- which i love- from northern va…

basically its a shit show..very sad.

it makes me sad that unless there is a last minute trek by people from philly/penn area (ween stronghold)  it looks like Aaron is going to be playing to a half full venue.. a tiny half full venue…

if i could get there I would but its looking very unlikely because traffic is generally so bad…

i had a dream the night before last that a WEEN show was announced for the 930 but it basically was Aaron playing with his band… and then Dean playing with his band…weird..

I have an "appointment" that day, so I'll be catching the show.

It's just a terrible booking in general. A Wednesday in the middle of winter in Annapolis. I'd estimate that there were probably 250 or so people at the R+R Hotel show, right? I'd imagine that's basically the same fanbase that would go see this. My partner is not a Ween fan at all but enjoys the solo album as well as the mellower acoustic Ween tunes, so we'll make a night out of it.

Deaner raised 10k in less than 24 hours to finish his home studio.

I really try to never skip him or Deaner because realistically… they could keel over any day.

totally agree..people assuming Gener is going to do an acoustic show in DC anytime soon might be in for a long long wait..

we're all sick over here… there was no way for me..

Wasn't planned.. People were yelling out requests at the end and he said he couldn't even remember what key it was in… Started playing another song, but then it was bugging him he couldn't remember Bananas and Blow so went back and played it.

surely you mean the calypso steel drum?

I do mean the steel drum (was drawing a blank and at work so couldn't just start jamming out)….but don't they do that on the keys live?
