Ween worst band ever? Discuss your thoughts about how awful Ween is here.

Hey Seth… WTF happened with IMP and ween.  Sucks we have to go to Live nation to get our fix
even the fans think you should be booking these guys
Pretty sure they're just a livenation band… not sure it has anything to do with IMP.

SETH?
yeah, but Ween and even the DWG played the club tons of times
they do all these one off dates, not like they do 25 date tours
If anything, this run of Ween at FSS is finally making me come around on the thought that there's an appreciable difference between 9:30 Club and any other 1000-1500 person venue. They do have the good sense to avoid Ween like the plague they are.
I had a great time last year on the side.
It was packed…

My theory has always been that they got blacklisted by IMP for whatever reason. It does happen.

I would consider that as a possibility,  but Deaner played 930 in 2015 with about 43 people there.

That doesn’t necessarily mean anything if it’s the Ween act that got blacklisted.

Hmmm…debatable. he's half of the brother's ween and that tour had 60% of the band ween minus Gener.
First of all the 930 has changed bookers many times ..if there is an IMP blacklist Dean Ween Group is under “D” and Ween under “W” and I doubt the bookers know the ins and outs of Ween membership

And anyways we know it’s far likelier Gener messed up

It’s just spitballing..no clue..

My friends band was blacklisted from IMP…it happens
Psychedelic Furs blew off the 930 30th anniversary show.

They haven’t played IMP since..

Dude, don't lie, there were at least 75 people there
My Ween brethren have failed me.

If anyone would like to see Ween without a pear shaped bearded fat man's genitals against your anus and him breathing down your neck, send me a message.

I have one ticket left for box 3, front row.

hey, some people are going there just for this
also, ween does bring the ladies, still a minority, but a respectful representation

is the beard pear shaped?

Pat is there too.

Hey Pat was ahead of their time…we are all Pat now

damn did that movie bomb: only grossed over $60,822 against its $8 million budget.

and going up against showgirls in the rassies hurt it's legacy
It's Pat was a multiple 3rd place nominee at the 16th Golden Raspberry Awards, though the film's cast and crew lost in every category to Showgirls:

Worst Actress - Julia Sweeney
Worst New Star - Julia Sweeney
Worst Picture - Charles B. Wessler
Worst Screen Couple - Dave Foley and Julia Sweeney
Worst Screenplay - Jim Emerson, Stephen Hibbert, and Julia Sweeney

wow…this was kind of a shocker

I know you're joking but that film would never get made today with better acceptance of LGBT+ individuals. The whole "the antagonist went mad at the end and was driven to cross-dressing" plot point is wildly offensive alongside . . . all the rest of it.

Not to mention, right thinking people have been avoiding Ween and fighting Ween-representation for decades.
of course…the actress and the writers have admitted it would 100% not be ok today, because Pat and their gender identity was the butt (hee hee) of the joke, not just a representative character
but still was somewhat ahead of it's time in terms of representation

still love when Harvey K is stranded on a island and has sex with pat and is like "Even though we had sex, I'm still not sure what sex pat is"

Hey who else was singing about the Homo Rainbow in 1998

There are many colors in the homo rainbow
Don't be afraid to let your colors shine
Don't be ashamed of what God made you

it was meant to be offensive, but the reality is they were right

I think the "joke" is technically on those adjacent to Pat who are driven to anger/madness/etc because they are unable to process this person who does not easily slot into gender-normative appearance, but that is likely a distinction without a difference.
so you did describe that better than I
