4th row, all in black (for frank)
just for the record, should anyone buy tickets for a constitution hall event and you get "obstructed view" orchestra seats, you need not worry. there is a full view and you have scored excellent seats. i didn't know what to expect with my seats but they were right on the aisle, 4th row, and just as good as those that were across from me in the middle section right in front of frank black. i cannot believe how lucky i got with those tickets. so all that hell i went thru with the presales and then having to do general sale was totally worth it. must be karma.
just watch out for the speakers. an employee handed out earplugs to us all, and even with my crap hearing, i actually had to use them because it was so loud.
strange to hear them do a jesus and mary chain song. that threw me a bit.
how was hte sound? since we had to wear earplugs and were within 20 feet of the speakers i couldn't get a good gauge of the sound quality.
bunnyman, we could see you rockin' away the entire time! i just had to look to my right and see your jumping all over in excitement!

heh, Lily, we were right in front of you :) B-8 and 9… was Bunnyman the dood in the aisle in front of the stairway? Unfortunately I don't know what anyone looks like so I didn't meet anyone. Here is my pic…

I thought they sounded great, and I didn't think they were too loud, but maybe my ears are already shot. There were some sound problems with the PA (I think) at the beginning, but that seemed to go away. The JAMC song, "Head On," is on one of their albums, btw. Didn't recognize the Neil Young song, it's cool that they did that. I also loved the stuff the guitarist did with his unplugged guitar cord. Noise rarely sounded so good!
Finally, one endearing and nearly-missed moment: I spotted the drummer during a drumless part of a song using a digital camera to take a picture of the fancy ceiling above the stage. DAR hall is a beautiful building, even if the Daughters of the American Revolution themselves are a bunch of ninnies.
ps – thanks again to the 9:30 staff for those awesome seats!!! xoxoxo

and eventhough my luck was crap during the 930 presales, i too should thank the club for taking the time and effort to set that up for their dedicated patrons.
good show - great seats - good time had by all (except for an embarassing incident on the metro involving markie!) - thanks seth for setting up the presale for us
well geez brennser, you just can't mention it and not tell us what happened in complete detail!
btw, was that you i tapped on the shoulder and say hi to this morning on the way to work or was that your secret agent twin?

Very disapointed, did not enjoy the show nearly as much as I thought I would, and I say this looking around after about 5 songs and half the crowd was sitting again. They opened with my 3 least favorite songs, and this cements it, Frank Black and the Catholics are officially better(by far) than the Pixies. Yes, I listened to the Pixies before I bought a single Frank CD. Disagree if you like, but I was the guy saying for months I was happy the Pixies were touring again, but, now, I understand why all the fans that disagreed with that were saying so. Where's 'Honeycomb'?, Frank…later…..
I thought it was a great show. The solo during vamos and hearing gigantic live…those things alone were worth the price of admission for me.
btw, was that you i tapped on the shoulder and say hi to this morning on the way to work or was that your secret agent twin?hmmmm, not sure, where exactly did said shoulder tapping occur? I did metro yesterday for a change but was deep in ipodland for most of the trip
