Guided by Voices

Is it at least sponsored by some sort of alcoholic beverage? Do they know what they're getting into booking GBV?
Yeah I am wondering how this show is going to work, not a great venue for GBV.
I will go if it's a cloudy day.
live on Penn?

Is that a step up or a step down from a state fair?
state fairs rock. lots of mullets everywhere.
yeah and ll that deep fried food and big redneck guys with tattoos and skinny waists who could nail one really hard in the toilets stalls…..

Sorry, just got carried away.
I'm really curious how crowded these Live on Penn shows will be.

Here's hoping the sound is really good for those of us old farts who will not fight throngss of eager teenagers and college kids in 90+ degree humid heat.
well, i'm gonna be out in alabama that weekend. while i would definately go out to see gbv, i'm still more excited for a full show in september, as opposed to an opener slot in the heat.

GBV I guess is a required taste. But the way I see it, if you don't get it, I am sorry but you are missing something great.

GBV live on canadian radio: go to http://www.radiosonic.com and it explains how to listen live
with Realplayer.

You can also listen to 30 minutes of the show live now on the Just
Concerts site:
http://www.justconcerts.com/concerts/concert.cfm?Concert_Id=139

Also available to listen to is a 2003 show by my boys Frank Black and
the Catholics live in Regina and a session by uber-GBV fans Chore, plus
a live set and a session by the Constantines that you should all check
out. I also see there is a good Sonic Youth show up. They are promising
to start archiving full shows online as well and not just portions like
they are currently.
Radiosonic use to be my favorite radio show to listen to back in motown… they always had great concerts and interviews.

Does the fact that GBV is appearing here in July imply they'll skip here in Sept?

And will we get a separate Shins show?

they'll definately play here in september. . probably around sep. 6. they aren't the headliner for the live on penn show.

i think the shins are off to austin after that show in philly.
Sparx, that link didn't work for me.

Second, do you have it on good authority that GBV won't come through DC in September? You intimated so on another thread.

Thanks

Actually the Shins don't have anything until a Ft Worth show September 19 that precedes their ACL show.

FANTASTIC. I'm going to GBV on Saturday and drinking as much beer as I can possibly consume. I don't do drugs, so it'll have to do.

Damn, I'm gonna have to deal with porta potties, aren't I? Well, if I'm drunk enough, I *wont care*.
